Overview

Samantha Rialto and her best friend, Maxie Peters are looking for a place to live, determined to put the traumatic events of the last two months behind them. But things start to go horribly awry when they find a dead body soaking in the bathtub of a potential rental. On that same afternoon, Violet Arnold, one of Samanthas favorite students, asks for help finding her missing father. Once again, Samantha is embroiled in another mystery.

She enlists the help of Skipper Turnbuckle, a crotchety private eye, and meets several colorful characters, including a bait shop worker with shockingly orange hair, members of a Russian mob, and a menopausal bakery owner.

To complicate matters further, Samantha has a letter from her ex-husband she has yet to open, AND she accidentally agrees to go out on a date with Doug, a fellow teacher, on the same day that her almost-boyfriend, Ben Parker, returns from training with the FBI.

To get through the week, Samantha will have to lean on her friends, face up to her ex-husband, and try not to get electrocuted by her own stun gun. Everything she holds dear will once again be threatened, and just when she thinks its all over, her world will be changed forever

This is a good book by a good author. I read all the of the books in the series over the last two days. Am looking forward to the April book just to see how the story continues between Sam and Ben.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and book three has kept up the pace and humor. Evan Katy's books are extremely entertaining and I'm never bored. It's well worth the time spent in Samantha's world.

Third story in this series. It's a humorous crime drama that is fast and easy to read. I don't often throw my two cents out writing a review but this is worth it.

Took me a while to get to this installment of this series because of my "to be read list" but I'm glad I did. Sam, Skipper, and Ben are back in their flawed glory trying to help a teenage girl locate her missing father. Secrets are revealed........moving the April book up.

A little love, a little mystery and a great big, "When is the next one?" Loved the book even though it had been awhile since I read the previous book. The personality of the characters and relationships were readily renewed. this book could easily be read as a stand alone so go ahead and pick it up even if you haven't read the others.

Truly, the Samantha Rialto series keeps getting better and better. You won't believe the ending and it won't take you any time to get there. I read the book in two sittings. Just couldn't put it down. The only drawback is I may have to wait another year to find out what happens next...
