More About This Book

Overview

This book is the second book in the "Adventures of Curtis, Connie, and Cosmic Cat." In the first book, Curtis and Connie adopt a stray cat and train him to be an astronaut. This second book takes the kids and Cosmic Cat to their grandparent's farm for a few days. The children and the cat get into a number of exciting activities. These include such things as swinging out over a pond on a rope and dropping into the pond. Curtis, Connie, Cosmic Cat spend a lot of their time getting into trouble, or at least some mild forms of mischief. They pick a watermelon, a fish bites Connie, they dig worms, catch grasshoppers, look for little people in a giant fig tree, draw a map of the farm and generally have a good time. Curtis gets his back scratched by Cosmic Cat. They explore the pond for slimy web-footed critters near the water inlet and for the barbed swimming things near the cattails. These turn out to be frogs and catfish. Their older brothers strand them in the top of a large oak tree when they the ladder away. The book is 148 pages long with 26 line drawings.
