Meet the Author

Emma Cane grew up reading and soon discovered that she liked to write passionate stories of teenagers in space. Her love of "passionate stories" has never gone away, although today she concentrates on the heartwarming characters of Valentine, her fictional small town in the Colorado Rockies.

Now that her three children are grown, Emma loves spending time crocheting and singing (although not necessarily at the same time), and hiking and snowshoeing alongside her husband, Jim, and two rambunctious dogs, Apollo and Uma.

    Short

This story was very short... Only 69 pages... But it was a great conclusion to the story of Jake and Heather so I am very glad I bought it... Happy to learn that there will be more Valentine books coming out in 2014.

    OK read

This is a good novella in the Valentine Valley series. I felt that it dragged in places, but maybe that was just me and the summer heat was getting to me. I have enjoyed Ms Cane's other works and will be buying the next in the Valentine Valley series. This one just wasn't up to the previous one.

A Wedding in Valentine is a novella that wraps up the story of E

A Wedding in Valentine is a novella that wraps up the story of Emily and Nate from the first book in the series. Heather Armstrong is in Valentine to be in her friend Emily’s wedding. At the airport, she sees the handsome cowboy she had an uncharacteristic one night stand with a few months before. Heather had to leave while he was out getting coffee because she had to make her flight. She had left her contact information but never heard anything.
Chris Sweet is the brother of the bride and is at the airport to pick up an unknown to him bridesmaid. When Emily introduces the two, he pretends that he doesn’t recognize Heather. . Chris had spent quite a bit of time trying to find her and is taken aback when he sees her at the airport.
This is a cute take on the classic romance theme of boy meets girl, something causes them to lose contact, and they meet again later. In this story, Emily has just recently met her natural family including Chris. Heather is trying not to disrupt the wedding and so she covers her hurt and goes along with the pretense. As a rule, this theme makes me crazy but it works perfectly in a shorter story. The two protagonists have to talk to each other and get the misunderstanding out of the way due to the wedding. The initial strong chemistry comes right back and they make a choice to let the past go and concentrate on the future. The wedding is a great setting to heighten the romance between the two.
Valentine Valley has been an enjoyable series and I recommend that one read the prior two books; A Town Called Valentine and True Love at Silver Creek Ranch. The next book in the series comes out in February of 2014.
