Overview

My life turned upside down when Uncle Fred showed up at our door one bright spring day. "Heard you needed someone to take care of Mike for a couple of weeks?" He told my parents.
It was only supposed to be for two weeks, but by the end of the first week I wanted to spend the rest of the summer with Uncle Fred. Sure, he lured me there on a pretext, but he got more than he expected when Julie became part of my life. Our mothers would have really been upset to hear that we'd spent two days alone in the wilds of war torn Normandy back in 1946; without a chaperone!
And then there was Bozo the cat. He was always under foot when I was thinking about the cottage; I began to wonder if I was being manipulated by that large gray cat with the golden eyes. By the end of the summer I would learn much more about Uncle Fred and Camilla, his wife from the past; both of them.

About the Author

I am a Vermont native, husband, father, grandfather, Navy veteran, retired IBM engineer, retired printer repairman; a graduate of Goddard Jr. College, Vermont Technical College, and Trinity College. Over the years Ive written technical articles, taught technical classes, and presented at technical conventions. I started reading science fiction in high school, and bought my first books through the TAB (Teen Age Book) club; they were Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne, and The Stars Are Ours by Andre Norton. Ive been reading science fiction for over 50 years now and have accumulated many great stories; along with a considerable amount of junk ones as well. Id say by now that I probably have a good idea of what I consider a good story. I hope you enjoy them as well.
