Meet the Author

Ann Charles is an award-winning author who writes romantic mysteries that are splashed with humor and whatever else she feels like throwing into the mix. When she is not dabbling in fiction, arm-wrestling with her children, attempting to seduce her husband, or arguing with her sassy cat, she is daydreaming of lounging poolside at a fancy resort with a blended margarita in one hand and a great book in the other.

Vi, Doc, Natalie, Coop, Zoe and Reid keep us entertained from page 1 until the end. Many twists and turns. But Ann also gives us moments that make us laugh out loud. Vi and Doc finally say how they feel about each other and we say....YES. This book makes you waiting for the next one. Ann Charles has another winner.

Violet has found herself in yet another sticky situation. From things that go bump in the night to an ex that won't back off to her ever increasingly heated relationship with Doc to murder, Violet's story continues. A laugh out loud suspenseful romance that leaves you begging Ann Charles to hurry up and finish the next book.

Ann has done it again. A humorous, roller-coaster ride with Violet, Doc and the gang. I really liked mention of Terri Reid in her book and that Violet and Doc finally said those 3 little words. Add some scary spirits on the loose, two exes and a lower than a snake in the grass officer and you have a great story. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

A good book but not much story here. It dragged a little for me and seemed a lot like filler more than anything. Of course it left us with many unanswered questions. I wish Cooper and Natalie would finally get together. ...............................................................

There is just something about this series of books that keeps me wanting more. I honestly cannot wait for the next book to come out...even though this one just did. Violet Parker struck again...twice!

I have loved every book in the Deadwood series and A Wild Fright in Deadwood is no exception! Violet's life appears normal on the surface but give it a little scratch and you find that it is actually far from normal. I was really happy to see Violet's sister, Susan, show her true character (or lack thereof) and resoundingly earned her title of The Beast! I tend to have an overjoyed/deeply saddened when one of Ann's books come out. I'm overjoyed to be able to read the next chapter in the everyone's lives and see what new nightmares Violet finds herself dealing with. From a high and mighty ghost, fending off a nefarious ex, handling a sexist co-worker or fighting Albino Others, Violet somehow manages to handle them all while raising 9 year old twins and enjoying her developing love life with Doc. Buy this book and you will be hooked!

Such a funny and enjoyable read. Violet and Doc, along with their ever present sidekick Old Man Harvey are in deep this time. And Coop finally gets to join in the fun. More truths come out as they battle unseen, and seen, forces and even though it can be a bit unnerving and scary at times, Ann always adds those wonderful laughs in to temper the storyline. More characters are in this book as well, which just adds to the fun. Natalie is up to shenanigans and Vi's brother even makes an appearance. Hilarious, scary, hot and sexy and always thoroughly enjoyable.

Violet, Doc, and the gang are back and up to their eyeballs in spooky stuff. Once again, Ann Charles has blown me away. Love is such an inadequate word to describe this series. So many laughs that you'll lose count. I can't get enough of it!

Once again Ann takes us on a wild time in the Deadwood Mystery series! All of our old friends are there to help Violet on her way to some crazy times. There was a big surprise (to me anyways) thrown in but I’m not one to spoil things so you will have to read the story and see for yourself what it is! Any whoo…If you love a great story…if you love getting lost in the antics and lives of great characters…then this book and series is definitely for you! Ann Charles, with her magical way of weaving a story, with many laugh out loud moments and seriously funny situations that had my stomach hurting from laughing so hard is definitely an author that you should be reading! I can recommend this book to friends, family and everyone without hesitation because it is amazing!

Is it possible for Ann to write a book that isn’t fast paced and surprising? Nope. I don’t think so. This book will send your head twirling calling forth pea soup with the action and surprises all the way through. I haven’t found a book of hers that I wouldn’t enjoy reading over and over again.

I know, you always hear "WOW, love this book!!" but the truth is, I do love these books! Ann Charles has a wicked sense of humor and it comes out in her books. From the first book in this series I have been hooked. These books are written with a sharp wit, snappy and quick dialogue and characters that are so well developed you wish they could be your best friends! In this seventh book in the series, we come face to face with one of Violets worst nightmares.....and Violet is thrown once again back on top of the list of usual suspects in another murder! Its up to her to find the truth before she is arrested. Please Ann, NEVER stop this series!
