Meet the Author

Mercy Loomis grew up in a haunted house, and has had quite enough of ghosts for one lifetime, thank you. Though she now lives in a 150-year-old house, it is remarkably ghost-free. (That, or they’re staying on the down-low. She doesn’t care which.)Mercy finished writing her first vampire novel when she was in middle school, and hasn’t stopped writing about them since. She loves stories about the paranormal because monsters are scary, but less scary than real people. Or at least less depressing.Mercy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison one class short of an accidental certificate in Folklore. She credits her love of mythology to her mom reading Greek myths as bedtime stories, and her love of fantastical adventure stories to watching cheesy movies with her dad. Her love of history (and coffee!) is completely her husband’s fault, but she doesn’t know who’s to blame for the fascination with physics. She guesses that hanging out with Dad while he butchered deer also had an effect on her character, but exactly what effect, she leaves up to the reader.See what Mercy’s up to and find links to her other work at mercyloomis.com.

    The Tiger Within

    (part four)

Sun forced herself to sit up, despite her head pain and bad leg. "Why did you bring me here?" Thistle stood up. "Because." Without another word he paded out, leaveing her alone in the den. Confused and angry, she growled and layed back down. She was about to become a full Hunter tonight! 'It's okay. Thunder and the others will look for me,' Sun thought to herself
Sun sighed and closed her eyes, thinking about her mother, her sisters. Anything that would ease the pain in her heart. Then right before she drifted off to sleep, Thistle paded in quietly. Sun kept her eyes closed to see what he would do, and if he brought her back home, she'd know who to thank later. Suddenly she felt a tounge rasp over her cheek lightly. Thistle had just kissed her! Now she wished that she REALLY was asleep. Teeth met her scruff and she was set onto Thistle's soft back. She shifted but kept her eyes closed. She didn't want this moment to stop yet.
Sun opened her eyes as Thistle dashdd past trees and bushes. They were nearing her territory now, and she couldn't wait to get home. Finally, Thistle set her down on a patch of moss. He touched his nose with her's then dashed off. Leaveing her alone in her territory.
Sun opened her eyes and leaped to her paws. Instently she reconized this part of the woods. Camp was practiclly de<_>ad ahead! Bursting with excitment, she raced through the trees toward home.
to be continued at next result. Sorry i took so long. I never found the time to write.

    Interesting

Very interesting! I liked this different take on faerie and skinshifters. A quick read with lots of action and a hint of romance. I want to know what happens next!

Good stories leave the reader wanting more and A Wild Hunt definitely does that. This fun little story of magic and faeries is a great introduction to the Aether Vitalis world.
