    Review:

"A Wild Night's Bride" by Victoria Vane was a fun, erotic and sexy short quick read with a good plot. I can not put it any other way...maybe adding some historical romance. Let me say first that this novel is for the mature audience. I was even found to laugh out loud many times throughout this novel. You will find there are three characters...Phoebe, Ned and DeVere that will keep you very well entertained turning the pages to see what was going on next and omg that sex scene between the two being so sizzling hot. Now, I know you are probably wondering just what all this is about...and all I can say is it was because of DeVere, that all of this happened...what happened...well, you will have to pick up "A Wild Night's Bride" to find out just what 'The Devil Devere' has done.

You will find that this author has a unique writing style that will balance all of the sexiness and humor to give the reader a well written read and yes, I would recommend "A Wild Night's Bride" as a excellent read.

Phoebe Scott is a struggling young actress with a guarded heart and a mysterious past. When she has decided to find herself a protector, preferably Viscount Ludovic Devere, and live comfortably for the rest of her life, she meets Edward Chambers. But Edward Chambers turns out to be a respectable widower with no plans of leaving his celibate nature, but Phoebe stirs something within him. And soon after that a bet with the Prince of Wales changes all that, and leads them into a night of debauchery after which the grieving widower Ned finds himself in the King's chambers. Will there be hell to pay?

This is a unique, fresh read, differing from most historical novels with some very refreshing characters. It is highly entertaining, deliciously witty, sexy, and funny! It pulls you into the story, and takes you along for an adventure! It is set in the Georgian era, with the language also adding to the appeal. The characters are just a treat to read about! Phoebe is an interesting character. She comes off definitely as an actress in this, transitioning into some character or another when the time calls for it. Ned is sweet; it was nice to read about a male lead who is not running after women here and there from the beginning of the book. If I'm correct, he is the only celibate character I've read about so far! The most interesting character I found was The Devil Devere, who does whatever he wants, gets bored, and then seeks adventure. I can't wait to read the sequel to learn which woman turns him into a reformed rake. Overall, very good read and so highly recommended!

Hero Is a Bit Bland, But Sparkling Secondary Character

Victoria Vane has created a sexy and rollicking start to a new series set in the exciting and glittery world of Lodon and featuring an unforgettable character in Viscount Ludovic DeVere.  This story features his best friend Ned, who couldn't be more opposite of him, and the mysterious Kitty, who sets Ned's life upside down with her wild ways.

Widower Ned has come to London to set up the coming out of his daughter and soon finds himself embroiled in a sexy bet that almost gets him in trouble with the King.  For quiet Ned, who hasn't wanted to be with a woman since his wife's death, DeVere's night of wild and sexy abandon has him hiding out and meeting the one woman to make him rethink his celibacy.  A bit of jealousy and a fulfillment of a bet leads to a night in the King's bed and an unexpected change to his future.  While I was happy to see Ned finally show some spirit, it didn't happen until the latter stages of the book and mostly revolved around his sexual encounter with Kitty.  This encounter was steamy and bordered on the erotic.  There's was also a constant and underlining sexual tension between them from the moment they met.  Up until then I could understand why he was called "dull dog Ned".  He was overly serious and acted like a prude at times.  His staid personality made me feel a lack of connection to him and Kitty definitely outshone him.

Kitty was full of life and doing the best she could after having her future compromised.  Thinking that all she's good for is a rich man's mistress she sets her sights on DeVere (who could never settle for just one woman) and ends up part of a bet where she'll end up winning more than just money.  Kitty's a larger than life character who had a hard time trusting and sharing the truth.  She was hardened by her past and I was happy she finally found someone reliable and equal to her fiery temperament in the bedroom.  I felt a stronger connection to her with her more fleshed-out and exciting character and her HEA proved that opposites attract.

The character that stole the story for me was DeVere.  Even as a secondary character his sexiness and unapologetic debauchery drew me to him and overshadowed the main couple.  He flits from woman to woman and there's a hint that he has a past with a widowed friend of Ned's that he still can't forget.  Since our glimpse of her shows a rather prudish woman, his overtly sexual nature promises fireworks and one huckuva roller coaster ride once these two reunite.  Thank heavens we won't have to wait with DeVere's story up next.

A Wild Night's Bride was a fast-paced read with an intriguing storyline.  While Ned didn't draw me in as much as I'd hoped, the characters of Kitty and DeVere more than made up for his moments of blandness.  Victoria Vane has a pleasant writing style that nicely balanced sexiness, humor, and action and I excitedly await the next release in this series.

    Fabulous!

This was a fast-paced read that I couldn't put down. The hero is reluctant; the heroine pragmatic about her future; and each is intrigued by the other. The good girl at heart heroine is no innocent, her past, if known, would make her scandalous and she's now a struggling actress to boot! The hero is a perfect pattern card of what it means to be an upstanding gentleman of high moral character (who just happens to be great friends with London's best known bad boy). The relationship is so out of character for each of them that you can't help but to keep reading to see what happens next. Victoria Vane also gives us just enough information about the hero's daughter, sister-in-law and that Devil DeVere that we are compelled to seek out the next installments to see if they are quite as juicy as the first one. I am hooked!
