If 28-year-old Monique Morrison had only one wish, it would be to fall in love with a man sent from God; a man who will cherish her forever. But Monique makes a huge mistake when she chooses to help herself. Going against her Christian values, she decides to play house and move in with her musician boyfriend, Boris Cortland. Boris is in no hurry to get to the altar now that Monique has already signed on to play the role of a wife.
Though she's in church Sunday after Sunday, praying for God to touch Boris's heart and turn him from his wicked ways, it seems Monique's pleas are going unanswered. Suffering from neglect, rejection, and plenty of verbal abuse, Monique has all but given up on her dream of a relationship that represents unconditional love; that is, until Adonis Cortland moves in and does for Monique all of the things that Boris won't do. Could Boris's own cousin be the man Monique had been seeking?
"This book is profound yet enlightening. The characters are believable and unique. The storyline is entertaining, and the readers of the book should definitely walk away examining their own lives and how their lives affect others."

I loved reading this book. I went to the bookstore to get my children into reading books that would intrest them over the summer, not knowing I would find my new favorite author! So far I have read 2 of Mrs. Nakita Nichols' books, AND I LOVE THEM!! I was so glad that it wasn't 1 of those typical "street walker" type of books. I am a Christian and enjoy the fact there is a VERY GOOD Christian Fiction author that still knows how to relate to things that I have personally witnessed while GROWING (up). I can hardly wait for her next book to come out! And I think this book would be a GREAT read for ANY book club. I could see many great discussions in any book club after reading her books.
I stumble on this book by pressing the wrong letter, so glad I did. This book is excellent. So far I read 4 of Ms. N ichols book in a minute I will begin my 5th. I plan to read all her books. Ms. Nichols keep up the great work keep writing I wll keek resding. Love to read.
This book was awesome, I simply could not put the book down, I can't wait to read Lady Elect. Jennifer Daniels
I ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK. IT WAS WELL WRITTEN, AND HELD YOUR ATTENTION. THIS BOOK HAD ALOT OF GREAT MESSAGES HIDDEN WITHIN THE PAGES. BORIS HAD A TREASURE IN MONIQUE, BUT FELL TO SEE IT UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. IN STEPS ADONIS, BORIS'S COUSIN WHO RIGHT OFF THE BAT NOTICES MONIQUE FOR THE KIND AND CARING PERSON THAT SHE IS. I DON'T KNOW WHY SOME MEN CAN HAVE THE BEST OF THE BEST IN A PARTNER, BUT FOR SOME REASON JUST FEEL THAT THEY STILL HAVE TO CHASE AFTER SOMETHING ELSE. BUT, THAT'S WHEN WE WOMEN HAVE TO STAND UP, AND PUT OUR FOOT DOWN AND REALIZE THAT WE ARE RARE RUBIES, AND NO, WE DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE ALL THIS CRAP FROM MEN. WE NEED TO VALUE OURSELVES AND OUR BODIES. KNOWING THAT THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT WILL TREAT US RIGHT. SISTERS WE NO LONGER HAVE TO SETTLE FOR ANYTHING, GOD'S BEST IS WAITING FOR US. THIS IS A GREAT READ FOR YOUNG LADIES JUST STARTING TO DATE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.
This was a great book. It was a real page tuner! I passed the book on to a friend and she agreed!!!!
