Her work speaks of experience from the school of hard knocks, yet is inspiring rather than bitter. This work of art is a portrait of resilience. With some of the same compassion, strength and sadness as poet, Maya Angelou, Johnson's writing leaps from the pages and caresses readers hearts and moves one to tears. Her readers are sure to appreciate her sincerity and determination. Anyone who has ever struggled in life will find something that resonates within their spirit. Johnson gives readers a glimpse of her inner psyche as she demonstrates unequivocally her true calling. Furthermore, through her own journey of self-discovery, she encourages readers to find their true selves and fulfill their own calling. What Mary J. Blige is to music, Paula Denise Johnson is to poetry.

My review is long over due for this outstanding writer. She has once
again birth forth a best seller for a book of poetry. I've bought all
of her books and each book gets better and better. I like to follow a
writer to see how they've grown from book to book. You can see her
maturity level and her expansion of knowledge that has develop over
time. She is articulate and write with such poignant style. I
admonish everyone to follow this young lady and buy her book. She needs
to be on Oprah's book list. I'll make sure i'm first in line for her
next book. I She has my full support. Please don't stop writing,
because it gives us all hope! Keep up the great work!

A Writer & A Fighter is one of Paula's best books of poetry.

A Writer & A Fighter is one of Paula's best books of poetry. You can
see her internal, personal and spiritual growth in her writing. Her
poems are thoughtful and impactfuly as they hit you right there in the
face and heart. There is no white washing of the truth. She puts it all
out there and says what she feels and possibly what we all have felt at
one time or another in different aspects of our lives. She writes poetry
that people can relate to and can view themselves through her poems. If
you love poetry, be sure to add this one to your collection. --Linda Baldwin

I've had the pleasure of meeting Paula D. Johnson and the opportunity to read her work during a past book signing. This is by far the best she's written. I love, love her work. She is a very nice person, not the diva I expected her to be. :) Keep up the great work, Ms. Johnson. You are definitely changing lives through your words. Thanks!
