Overview

Maggie Bloom wants nothing more than to paint her decorative flowerpots and admire the marsh view from her Hilton Head Island home. Her idyllic life changes, however, when a yacht explodes in the famed Harbour Town Yacht Basin, and a man onboard is killed. The sheriff thinks Joey Archer, a fishing boat captain, deliberately caused the explosion, but before he can make an arrest, Joey disappears. Tiffany, Joey's young, blond and very distraught wife, begs Maggie to help her find her husband and clear his name. Reluctantly,
Maggie agrees. She has problems of her own. An old love and an old husband have both come for a visit, and both are hoping to win her back. But, when someone tries to kill her by pushing her into the harbor and holding her under a boat propeller, Maggie decides to put her romantic two-step on hold and get on with her sleuthing - before she's too dead to dance.

Maggie Bloom sleuths her way through many hilarious adventures to solve the murder mystery. It's captivating, funny and plops you right in a true to life Hilton Head Island setting. The murder mystery has so many twists and turns to keep you caught up in Maggie's adventures right from the start until you turn the last page. Maggie is smart and lovable, but throws caution to the wind. She's got a mind of her own but see how she gets swept into solving the mysteries, and how she handles those romances. If you like Stephanie Plum (Janet Evanovich's series: One For the Money, etc.), you'll love Maggie Bloom and all the many colorful characters in Linda Clayton's books. This is fun to read, light-hearted murder. Perfect book to sweep you away to this South Carolina island. You'll find yourself taken to the beaches, Harbour Town, nearby but remote Daufauskie Island, marshes, and out on the water. When you finish this book you'll be wanting more Maggie Bloom Mysteries.
