About the Author

Monisha Bajaj is a South Asian American children's book author and a professor education at the University of San Francisco She writes and teaches about peace, human rights, migration, and education. A Year of Kites is her debut picture book.

is a visual artist and children's book illustrator. Spending the first half of her life in China before moving to the United States, Amber is heavily influenced by her bicultural background. Picture books she has illustrated include the New York Times bestseller Because by Mo Willems, Looking for a Jumbie by Tracey Baptiste, and Night Market Rescue by Charlotte Cheng.
