Shelly does a wonderful job of writing this funny and entertaining story of one woman on her quest to find her soul mate. We are lead through Sara's life with things the reader can take to heart, laugh at, appreciate with your best friend, and most of all empathize with. Shelly Bell wrote a wonderful story that keeps the reader involved and hoping for Sara's story to end with her deepest wish fulfilled. I would recommend this book.

Shelly Bell is visiting to Writer’s Corner on the Chick Lit Plus Blog Tour. She is promoting her debut novel A Year to Remember.

    Synopsis:

Sara is the older sibling and today her younger brother Seth is getting married. Sara being the eldest child feels some animosity towards her sibling on his special day. She is asked to give a speech at his reception then caught by surprise and doesn’t know what to say at first. Sara vows to get married by her thirtieth birthday. Let the online dating journey begin. Sara brings along her friend Missy for support in carrying out this quest. Will Sara find someone special? What will she learn about herself?

    My Thoughts:

If you like Jennifer Weiner then you will also like Shelly Bell. I had a hard time putting this book down. I am interested in checking out this J-Date website is it real? I thought the story was great. I loved how the author developed the characters as the story went along.

I thought that this book was very easy to read. I loved how the plot wasn’t just about finding your mate but also having a fulfilling life. Another question that could be asked is what you do have to contribute? A great relationship should seek to fulfill you. It should also matter what you have to contribute. Where do your interests lie? I am a cook, writer, and reader. I am interested in joining writing groups or joining a cooking class.

    A Book To Remember!

Shelly Bell’s debut novel, A Year To Remember, is in fact, a book to remember. Bell ’s brilliant writing has the reader right in the action with Sara as she navigates the often murky waters of her year’s journey to self discovery, acceptance, and true love. Regardless of your age, background, or interests, you will find Bell’s characters to be realistic and relatable. I am an avid Women’s Fiction reader and this book is better than most in the genre. I literally couldn’t put it down until I found out who Sara’s mystery kisser was and how their lives would unfold. So, I have only one question…when can I expect a sequel?

    Loved it!

I loved reading A Year To Remember! The author brought to life each character. Loved following Sara & Adam (aka Goldman) through the novel as they matured with each other. Also thought it was great that they touched on how as a therapist...she needed help herself...and introduced me to the world of OA. Have & will continue to recommend this book to anyone...especially MOT's from Metro-Detroit...and will have to get a copy when it comes out in print.

    love it

I found this book charming, funny, and very real. I couldn't help but compare my own dating and married life to the struggles of Sara. I felt like I was truly experiencing Sara's journey with her like she was a friend. It's also nice to read a story about love and romance that is realistic about sex. It's nice to know that other women have felt like me.

So curl up with your favorite beverage and enjoy a little treat by reading this book. It's worth it!
