Overview

The comic adventures of the Fox siblings—sports-challenged Peter, shop-till-you-drop queen Paige, and geeky Jason—have entertained kids for more than 20 years. Now, for the first time, comes a collection of kids’ favorites in a kid-friendly package.

AAAA! That's the sound heard often from the the Fox siblings as only sister Paige discovers Quincy the iguana has eaten her homework, older brother Peter applies permanent marker on his face drawing a fake goatee, and younger brother and expert video gamer Jason loses to Paige. Throw in the AAAAs as mother Andy exclaims while dodging thrown balls in the house and backyard-grilling disaster dad Roger blows up another grill, and you have the perfect equation for a family that every kid can relate to.

Including cartoons from previously published books, this kid-targeted book portrays a not so typical look at how a year unfolds in the Fox family.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Amy McMillan
Jason is a brilliant but misguided tween reminiscent of Greg Heffley. He is a precociously too-smart-for-his-own-good little brother who enjoys wreaking havoc on the rest of his family with the help of his pet iguana, Quincy. Older sister Paige is a typical teenager, obsessed with shopping, clothes and boys. Peter, the oldest brother does his best to dodge homework and all real responsibility. Mom and dad make token appearances but it is the kids who steal the show. Anyone with siblings will appreciate the family dynamics and anyone without will probably be thankful (but eager for more of the family's adventures) after reading the book. With the simple black-and-white drawings, comic panels, and range of characters this book will find a wide audience but will be a particularly easy sell to those needing to feed their hunger for more in the Wimpy Kid vein. Straight from the funny pages, this collection of comics is sure to please. Reviewer: Amy McMillan
School Library Journal
Gr 3–6—Scores of kids will relate to the funny family dynamics of the Fox family. The book follows mischievous fifth-grader Jason and his older sister and brother as they navigate the trials and tribulations of school crushes, homework, friendships, and family life. The comics are grouped in small story arcs, with the occasional stand-alone strip. Considering that some of them are nearly 15 years old (pulled from 1997–'99), they hold up well. FoxTrot has always been one of the stronger comics, rarely falling into the monotony that often plagues other strips. The four-panel illustrations are rendered in black and white and have been successfully reformatted into a two-by-two-inch layout. This collection is a nice introduction to FoxTrot for new audiences. It will likely leave readers wanting more.—Travis Jonker, Wayland Union Schools, MI
