Aaron Burr: And the Young Nation

by Scott Ingram

Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 5-9-Ingram provides background material about the times in which Burr lived, giving readers a sense of the events that shaped him. Beginning with the famous duel with Alexander Hamilton, he touches on the history of the young country and the various roles played by Burr. The former hero's life after the duel is well covered, including his thwarted plans to raise an army and form his own empire in the western territories and his trial for treason. The chronologies of Burr and the United States are useful and the list for further reading and related Web sites give additional resources for reports. A solid addition.-Carol Wichman, formerly at Northridge Local Schools, Dayton, OH Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
