Our author Robert was inspired to write this book series from spending time with his nieces and nephews, teaching them Vietnamese and Mandarin, and reading children's books to them. Through these experiences, he saw the importance of maintaining culture and language in the later generations. From self-studying Chinese Mandarin, he developed the progression-style of learning a new language, which he applies to this book series.
