I admit to (perhaps) being somewhat biased in my review, since as a whole I dislike ABC books. That being said, I also have a three year-old, so my review is based on his reaction to the book, and my thoughts on how appropriate the book is for him. I agree with the review that states that the books in somewhat unprofessional. I had that feeling early into reading the book; it is almost as if the book is made in photo-shop as a family keepsake, rather than for general consumption. My son liked it enough to ask for it to be read a second time, but we both became bored with it to get through the full second reading. He couldn't recognize many of the objects' shadows, even on the second run through. Most of them are simply not iconic enough. Also, some the statements accompanying the pictures are inappropriate for most children that fit within the age-range for this book. My overall opinion: try it on your ebook device, or find at a library, before purchasing a hard-copy. Also, I dislike the inclusion of the coral for 'c.' Coral is not a household object; it belongs in the sea, not on the mantle.

I bought this while babysitting. The kids got uninterested fast because half of the objects they have never heard of! They also had a hard time guessing most of the objects. Not to be mean its a great idea just not age appropriate for a child thats supposed to be learning abc' s

My 4 year old daughter was excited to look at this book but we were both disappointed. Several items she didn't even know and the shadows were off with the pictures for example take a look at the orange shadow and orange picture not the same. I don't like to be a harsh critic but this book is very amateur. Last can u please tell me how many child or adults know what Vinca is? Really can you? I didnt think so.

This book is a good idea but doesn't come off very well. My daughter was interested for a couple of pages, but it's not something we will read again.

I was looking for something to help my granddaughter with recognizing the ABC's.... this book is definitely not worth the price and it's not for a small child.

This would be a fun book to read with a child/grandchild <4 years. It's a (really) simple guessing game where you first see a shadow that goes with the letter of the alphabet you are on (they go in order) and you guess what it is. (A is for???). You flip to the next page and they show you what object actually made that shadow. So pretty neat. I can see passing time on a car ride, etc. with the book.
