Gr. 4–7. From the very first page, the action is nonstop in this breathless thriller, the first book in Korman's Kidnapped series. Meg, 11, is abducted on her way home from school. Her brother, Aiden, 15, works with the FBI to find her and deliver the ransom money. In the meantime, Meg fights back with muscle and wit, even managing to sneak out an SOS letter. The hurtling plot, with mysterious meetings and high-tech surveillance, shifts between the two kids' viewpoints. As the first book in the Kidnapped series, this doesn't end with a rescue, and the references to what happened before this story actually begins (the kids' parents were framed for aiding terrorists and the kids survived as fugitives) are a bit confusing. Still, even reluctant readers will be asking for the second book, The Search, which is also now available. ––Hazel Rochman

School Library Journal
Gr 4-6-Fifteen-year-old Aidan and his sister Meg, 11, are trying to become accustomed to a normal life after being fugitives hunted by the FBI while their parents were in prison for a crime they didn't commit. In the last two books of Gordon Korman's On the Run series (Public Enemies, Hunting the Hunter) the parents were framed for aiding terrorists, but there are still a lot of people who consider them traitors. In the first book (Scholastic, pap. 2006) of Korman's new series, Meg is kidnapped on her way home from school, and Aidan barely escapes capture. In order to find Meg, the family must cooperate with the FBI, the same individuals who wrongly incarcerated the parents. Months of near-death escapes and evading the police have made Meg and Aidan exceptionally resourceful and quick-thinking teenagers. Meg tries everything she can to escape her captors, while Aidan does what he can to find his sister, even going alone to deliver a $2 million ransom to the captors. The action-packed story ends with Meg held captive in a car trunk. The book is well narrated by Christie Moreau as Meg and Andrew Rannels as Aidan. Listeners will eagerly await the next installment of this adventure that features lots of action and brave, believable characters.-Teresa Wittmann, Westgate School, Edmonds, WA Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

The Main Idea of the book is about a two siblings named Aden and Megan and Megan gets kidnapped. I think this is a great book for middle school students. A white van with dark windows pulled up and took Megan and drove off, Aden tried his best to chase after the van, but it was no use. He went to notify his parents that recently got out of jail for something they did not do. The family was in a mess and now this did not help. They immediately went into action and tried there best to find her. Megan tried to escape many times but every time she was got. You have to read book two to find out more. Megan and Aden where very good to each other, they predicted each other when they were running away from cops and people. In conclusion, this book is a very good book at the end it gives you a mystery then you have to read the other books to get the whole story. My final review is that it was a very good book and you need to read it.

The kidnapped book is the best out of all of them from book 1 to book 3. when I read the blurb i knew i would love the book. IT caught my eye, I love books with mystery and suspicion. when I started reading i couldn't stop i read it every where . I finished the book in four days and thats only because i couldn't I couldn't read it every second of the day. My opinion is that the book is great and I thought i needed to put that out there.

One day when Aiden and his little sister Meg were walking home from school, a white van pulls up. Meg¿s been kidnapped! There¿s no way Aiden can stop it from happening. Aiden has to team up with the FBI tracking down clues only a brother can recognize. Kidnapped is a great and exciting book that will keep you hooked! Meg is a tough, brave and positive girl that will never stop trying to escape, Aiden will never stop being a terrific brother that will never stop searching for Meg. This book is a very believable, fun and exiting book but does not get solved in the end. To find out what happens check out book two The Search.

11 year old Meg and 15 year old Aiden were brother and sister and the main characters. They are the son and daughter of parents that were arrested as traitors. The parents were released when it was found they were innocent. Meg and Aiden were fugitives on the run befor their arrest and continue to use what they learned. The Plot of the book begins when the family is trying to get their lives back to normal. On the way home from school one day, Meg was kidnapped by two men and a woman wearing masks. Aiden fought to free her but they got away. While Meg plots to get free, Aiden teams up with the FBI to search for clues to find Meg. The kidnappers want 2 million dollars for Meg. The story gets very exciting when Aiden gets closer and closer to his sister. Meg is hidden in Alexandria, Virginia and ends in the middle of a circus parade. The theme of the book is a brother's love for his sister. I liked the book because it was exciting. You know what Meg and Aiden are both thinking and doing during the story. Meg and Aiden felt at times like outsiders in their own town, like they had no friends. I have felt like that before too. The story continues to another book and I can't wait to read it.

Picture this--you and your sibling are walking home from school and all of a sudden, someone is attacking you and trying to kidnap you. Then instead of taking both of you they just take your younger sibling. Well, this happened to ex-fugitive Aiden Falconer. The FBI accused his parents of doing something illegal so they went to jail for almost a year while Aiden and Meg were running away from the police so they wouldn¿t have to go into a temporary home. Then the FBI figured out they falsely accused the Falconers. When they got out of jail there were a lot of people who still believed they had done something wrong. Aiden and Meg called them Falconer-haters. One day after school they were coming home from the bus and this van drives by slowly. They think nothing of it, but then it stops and two people come out and start attacking them. They can¿t get Aiden, so they take Meg and drive off. After Aiden tries to chase after the van and can¿t catch it, he runs home and tells his parents. They call the local police. Then the FBI gets involved, so they call in special agent Emanuel Harris--the same agent who had arrested the Falconer parents in the first place. They tell the media. They hope they can find her soon! THE ABDUCTION is great! It is the beginning of a three book series, KIDNAPPED. Gordon Korman really knows how to write a suspenseful book and make you want to read more and more. There are so many twists and turns, this book is sure to keep you on edge! **Reviewed by: Frizzie

If you loved the first series about Aiden and Meg Falconer, then you'll love this series. And even if you didn't read the first, you may still love it. The characters are believable and the story is suspenseful, and the series can be funny and sweet at points. It may be a bit unrealistic, but the characters and story make it pretty amazing. It's for a very wide age group - from middle schoolers up, I would say. I personally am a high school student who still loves the series, and highly recommend it.

This book was the best book I've ever read. I read this book in 2 days. I also read the other series (kidnapped book 2 and 3) in 2 -3 days. They were all awesome. The way the author dipected everything,it explains why lots of people who have been kidnapped have a hard time getting away. I think this book could help you survive if you ever are kidnapped. It gives you ideas to get away. This book I recommended to all my friends and they even saw me read it in 2 days.

When I bought this at my school book fair it was the first one I read. But as you see I only rate it 4 stars, because some of the story was hard to follow. But I would buy this and FYI take your time, find a cool spot, read books, and have a great summer!
