Young Gracie Brice disappears after her soccer game, and her Vietnam Vet, Green Beret grandpa continues to search for her long after the FBI has closed the case. This is a "can't stop reading" kind of book. Just when you think you have things figured out, another twist, another turn, another change to make you say to yourself..."Oh just a few more pages.... just one more chapter"! The author, Mark Gimenez, has written a puzzle.. a very complex puzzle, which in the end has all the pieces fit, and believably so. I found myself saying things aloud as I read.. like "Oh no!, I don't believe it!" I am an avid reader and this is one of the best books I have read in some time. So many books have good stories and endings that leave you flat. "The Abduction" will not disappoint.

Wow - what a book. At first I thought there were too many coincidences to make it believable. But I learned there was a consistant theme. These random events were not just random. But as Ben was to discover 'and his mother told him early in his life', God had a plan for him. Mark did great in revealing the twists throughout the book. This book was different from his first which shows he is a good writer. I am looking forward to his next book.

I have read some wonderful books lately. These books were by Sue Grafton, Clive Cussler, Tom Bradley and Ken Follett all talented and sucessful writers. This author compares to them all. I had never read him before. I understand he is new to writing. I hope he has a wonderful career, I will look for his books in the future. His style is intelligent and easy to read. He gets every nuance through clearly to the reader. He is definitly a writer to watch.

I finished this book the other night. From beginning to end this book was the definition of what good writing is about. The twists and turns throughout the whole book were awesome. THe action was great, and you really learned to connect with the characters. This should be made into a movie. Reese Witherspoon should play Elizabeth Brice, Dakota Fanning should play Gracie, Ben Brice should be played by Kiefer Sutherland. I know he may not be old enough but seeing him as Jack Bauer convinces me he would be perfect for this part. John Brice would be played great by Tobey Maguire, and Agent Devereaux should be played by Dennis Haysbert. I think Kevin Bacon would be great as Jack O' smith. There is an all star cast for an all star book. It would make an oscar winning picture! This is probably my favorite book of all time!!!!

I read Gimenez's first book "Color of Law" quite a few years ago,and so loved it. Every few months I would search for another book and found nothing, until just recently and apparently he just got on the e-readers, so I have now read several and loved them all. I think he is one of the best writers I've ever read. I will buy them all, no matter who they are about, although I love my little attorney the best. But they are all good, no matter what he writes.

I can say a lot of things about this book, but it would be a waste of words on a bad thing. Let's just say unreadable. I stopped on page 87. Could't take it any more.

I have never read a book by Mark Gimenez but am now a devoted fan. This book grabbed me from the first chapter and I was breathless at the finish. Ben Brice had such depth and love for his family it was overwhelming. And John in all his geekdom was truly a man in his own way. At first I had a tremendous dislike for Elizabeth until I knew the truth about her past. Gracie, of course, was the star and she wore the crown magnificently. Amazing read...

I highly recommend all books by Mark Gimenez. I love his writing and his story telling ability. Every book I've read written by him is wonderful plus I love how he finishes each book. You never finish a book thinking he rushed through the ending, he finishes them off beautifully. This book was no different. Although I preferred The Perk, The Color of Law, and Accused over this one, this one is great too.

Full of suspense that keeps you wanting more. Grace is a charmer; intelligent & astute beyond her years. All the characters are fascinating as the author digs deep into what makes each of them tick. Ben brice is especially involving & john brice grows on you.

After a young girl is kidnapped, the author explores and goes in depth with each family member and their reactions. As the book progresses, the reader can see the growth of the main characters. The reasons behind the kidnapping will keep you on the edge of your seats. A great read and fast paced!

When I was on page 10 of this book, I realized I had already read it. Instead of being disappointed, I was excited to read it again. I don't normally read a book more than once, but I felt drawn into the story even though I did not remember it all. I was right to read it again and loved it as much as the first time. His characters were brilliant and made you hate or fall in love with them. Recommend this to anyone who loves to be entertained.
