Editorial Reviews

But rather than viewing the letters as a precursor of modern sensibilities, Mews interprets them in terms of 12th century concerns for renewal of the religious life and the evolution of Abelard's , especially as influenced by St. Jerome. Dating the works is also tackled. Based on a master's thesis in history at the U. of Auckland, New Zealand. Indexed by name and by manuscripts cited. Annotation c.
