Abominable Snowmen, Legend Comes To Lifeby Ivan T. Sanderson
Ivan T. Sanderson, who captured the most famous film footage of Big Foot in Northern California, a graduate of Cambridge University and world famous zoologist, naturalist and writer, presents evidence for not one, but possibly four separate kinds of unidentified hominids that walk the earth,on every continent except the AntArtic and Australia. From the foothills of the Himalayas, to the steppes of Russia and the Klamath mountains of Northern California, thousands have witnessed these incredible and elusive creatures. With more than 30 years of evidence and dozens of maps and photgraphs, Sanderson presents the case for the existence of the Abomidible Smowman, and the reasons why this elusive creature has avoided capture.

This book is exhaustive with information! The author has not only compiled reported sightings around the world, but has also used maps to compare the regions where they have been seen. Then he notes the type of fauna in those areas compares them all and gives a very good picture of where someone could go to start a seach (if they were so inclined) for these creatures. I definately recomend this for those interested in cryptozoology and a MUST READ for anyone who is a bigfoot researcher.
This book is the basic text for this field of interest. This is so, not because it is a survey of mystery hominid/hominoid sightings worldwide. It remains the bible in this field because Sanderson was a biologist and brought a scientific framework of understanding to this body of knowlege and he passes this knowledge on to the reader. Sanderson explains why these mystery creatures live where the live and shows the reader where they are most likely to be seen now and in the future. No other book on this subject brings with it this kind of power. For that reason it remains, even after more than forty years, the primer for those interested in these creatures.
