A first with a photo on the cover ! Bravo ! Embellished with silver and gold framing Lincolns photograph tastefully to his gold signature on the back, all atop a perfectly colored black base. everything about this book says Excellence. its a delight to hold and read writings which deserve to be leather bound. My Barnes & Noble only received 2 copies ! I realize you can order books online but i like to take a close look at every part of the book  from the spine to the leather to the wrapping. I do want it perfect. This will surely sell out soon. not only for the historical significance but for leather bound collectors. Do not delay !

A beautifully crafted leather bound copy of Lincoln's most famous writings. Designed and lettered in a foil-like period script, it stands out on the bookshelf. A fantastic addition to any library. Highly recommend

I finally finished the first book I bought after I moved to USA from Norway in july! I've been working so much and exploring this country, so I've barely had time to read at all. I only thought it fitting that this was the book I started my one-year American adventure with, and I liked it – at least more than I thought I would because I don’t like politics; it makes me angry. Which the debates between Lincoln and Douglas did, but the rest was intelligent and sometimes even funny. I love the Victorian times, and Abraham Lincoln was a fitting president for that time. And I guess I learned that he REALLY was into abolishing slavery. In this volume you’ll first find a short recap of his life, addresses / speeches / writings, political debates, presidential proclamations and letters. Kind of in the sense of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, you know the story well, but in reality it is told through letters and the like. So this is not like reading ‘’Vampire Hunter’’, like I did a couple of years ago, and liked a lot. If you’re interested in American history, this book is really recommended to have in your bookshelf.
