this one will take time, but its worth it. although modern academics complain about included material that is probably false (often acknowleged in the text as a rumor) this is a unique view of lincoln and maybe the only one that lets us in on his 19th century reality - he was funny but also sligh. tough, but merciful.

This must surely be 'the' edition of Carl Sandburg's 'The Praire Years' and 'The War Years'. The illustrations are well selected, and the quality of the reproductions is remarkable. The full page color reproduction on page 42 is outstanding.
