This is a double book, Featuring both Mountain Men, Preacher and Smoke Jensen. Absaroka Ambush is the 3rd book in the First Mountain Man series: Preacher, the legendary 'first mountain man,' leads a wagon train of women across the West, fighting off a gang of cutthroats who are operating under the mistaken assumption that the ladies and their belongings are easy pickings. Courage of the Moutain Man is the 10th book in the continuing series about Smoke Jensen: Despite the warnings of ranchers, Smoke Jensen and his trail herders head north out of Colorado, taking 3,500 head of cattle into the gunfire of Clint Black, the fiercely competitive and power-hungry rancher whose land they must cross.

This is actually 2 different books. The first one was powerful, I could hardly put it down. The second one I didn't think I would like, started off slow, but turns out to be an excellent story. The price was good, I recommend to all you would are either Western Genre readers or need to try something new, this book.

Johnstone did his normal great job at the writers desk. Once I started reading hated to stop. The book holds your interest. If you are a western book reader you will enjoy this one.
