Shy high school student Riko Izawa aches for a boyfriend but guys just won't look her way. Then one day she signs up for a three-day trial of a mysterious "lover figurine," and the next thing she knows, a cute naked guy is delivered to her doorstep—and he wants to be her boyfriend!

He's faster than a speeding bullet, can run up tall buildings, and he cooks breakfast! When luckless-in-love teen Riiko strikes out again, she falls for a pitch from an odd salesman and orders a "lover figure" she names "Night." Riiko finds herself intrigued, but her life (amusingly) complicated. Fortunately, her parents are away, but neighbor Soshi wonders what's going on he has a crush on Riiko himself. Then she must deal with Night's $1 million price tag. Eventually, a rival reinitializes Night to herself by kissing him. Can Riiko get him back, and will she have sex with him? Or will she and Soshi recognize their mutual attraction? With the graceful art style of Watase's other titles (Fushigi Yugi; Ceres), this six-volume shojo reversal of the Chobits formula is an enjoyable, lightweight read. Science fiction fans may recall Tanith Lee's nuanced and tragic The Silver Metal Lover. Hopefully, this frothier story will end on an upbeat note. With sexual themes; rated for older teens up; currently running in Shojo Beat. See also Sparks: An Urban Fairy Tale for a more serious comics heroine taking a do-it-yourself approach to the magical boyfriend theme. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

I wish Night was my boyfriend because he is just the to good to be true kind of man. He is everything a girl wants in a man! He's romatic, can cook, is protective, strong, and smart! thats just a little of whats in there. You fall for all the characters right from the begining and don't want to stop reading. I'm going to buy the whole series!

When you want a boyfriend none are around, that is just how Riiko feels. On the path of desperation she signs up for a free trial for a robotic boyfriend. What can go wrong right? Nope, wrong! Riiko receives the extravagant Night, a hot and sexy man that only wants to please her. Seriously this is one of the best manga I have ever read! It is filled with romance and comedy and enjoyable characters. I fell in love with every aspect of this series right from the beginning. There is an interesting love triangle that also develops, I had a hard time choosing which guy I would end up picking, you will have to see for yourself. Riiko is just a doll! No, not literally, but cute nonetheless. She is always looking on the bright side of things and is protective of the ones she loves. Night is the epitome of every girls dream guy. He is so adorable when he is learning all of the different emotions and things Riiko is trying to teach him. Night is really cute when he starts becoming overprotective of Riiko. I really wish they would make it into an anime!!!

I have had this manga in book form for years. It is undeniably one of the BEST shonen manga i have ever read. It has been recommended to many a manga fan by yours truly. There is a live action korean, english subbed show about this with a bit of a realistic twist to it. No worries! Night is still a robot.

At first I saw the cover and was like 'whoa there buddy!' but as soon as I saw it I grabbed it and sat down and started to read it! I could relate to it, because my best friend used to do the same thing to me, pared me up with a hotty and then took him from me. When I was finished with the first book, I grabbed all of them! You have to read this book!

For the whole series: Absolute Boyfriend was great. It had a sad ending, but, I'm not telling you why! You will have to read it for yourself, and you won't regret reading it.

I love this manga. I can not wait till more come out. I love the mix of comedy and seriousness. Though it sorta reminds me of a boy knock off of chobits but it is excellent anyways!!!!!

I know there's a show based on this. The premise sounds interesting. This was an okay but alright first volume. A little weird but that's okay. Kind of cute at times I guess.
