Overview

If you are coming to visit Orlando, Florida or are a fan of Central Florida, this is a terrific book for you. It tells the story of Winter Park, a little village that sits on Orlando's northern border and is truly a world away. With its shady live oaks and bumpy brick streets, Winter Park looks more like New England than the subtropics, and perhaps that is why this city of twenty-five thousand people hosts more than a million visitors each year. In a book illustrated with more than one hundred vintage color postcards, author Robin Chapman describes the allure of this century-old resort, where visitors love strolling through Park Avenue's chic shops; riding on the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour; dining al fresco at the city's many cafes; and picnicking in Central Park. Here you'll learn where to go to look for (or avoid) alligators and other exotic Florida wildlife, and how to successfully enjoy Winter Park's popular Sidewalk Art Festival. And that's just for starters!

    Great little book!

I really enjoyed this book. I picked up a first pressing copy when I lived in Orlando and the book is full of cool little thinks I never knew about Winter Park and I especially LOVED the Design of the book. Robin must have spared no expense on getting a good art director. Hats off to her!
