Read an Excerpt

Where the mountains meet the ocean shoreline and rise straight up from the surf, as if deliberately halting the progress of the mighty water, Acadia National Park forms the boundary between mainland and coastline, freshwater and salty waves, naked rock and lush, forested glades. At just over 47,000 acres, this second smallest of the 58 National Parks nonetheless packs a big, glorious wallop of gorgeous scenery into its small breadth and width, much of which was made accessible by car, small boat, bicycle or foot traffic by enlightened human intervention not quite a century ago.

It was a very tiny book with no useful info. It was advertising

It was a very tiny book with no useful info. It was advertising for a couple restaurants. The map inside was not useful for hiking and it ripped the 2nd time I unfolded it. I ordered it online. When I received the book it had a foot print on the cover like it had been stepped on. I immediately returned it to my local B&N store.
