In her Loveswept debut, Maggie McGinnis tells the tale of a city girl who’s running on fumes—and the cowboy who shows her all the good things she’s been missing.

After being betrayed by her con man ex-fiancé, Kyla Bennett nurses a broken heart. But Kyla’s friends have other ideas and when they whisk her off to Whisper Creek, a dude ranch staffed by cowboys so hot they dim the Montana sunset, all Kyla wants to do is hide under a quilt. Then in rides Decker Driscoll. He’s hauling about as much emotional baggage as Kyla, but when he stands close by, both of them want to stay close—and begin to succumb to an undeniable attraction.
After experiencing personal tragedy, Decker never thought he’d see Big Sky country again. But now that his family’s Whisper Creek property is in deep with a Vegas gambler, Decker’s back for the summer—and spending all his time running from “cowgirls” who come to the dude ranch to score some dudes. Then he meets Kyla, a kindred spirit who brings on a stampede of protective feelings . . . and a powerful hankering to sear her with a new brand of love.

This is my first time to post a comment on a book. Resubmitting because i failed to note a rating. I really enjoyed this book. It had a good story with just enough romance. Hope to see more from this author.

I requested this novel from the publisher because I thought it would be fun to read a romance about a city girl and a cowboy. Boy was I right! This book was charming and well-written, with extremely likable characters and a gorgeous ranch setting in Montana. I loved each and every character and wish I could go to the ranch to hang out with them. I also really enjoyed the humor...the book just put a smile on my face. Though our heroine, Kyla, goes through some completely ridiculous and slightly outlandish experiences, though to be fair, maybe she is the unluckiest person alive...I really enjoyed the story. The chemistry between Kyla and Decker was hot, hot, hot!!! What I truly appreciated, was that the author managed to add some depth to her characters and the story and introduced a complexity that exists in real relationships. There is nothing better than reading a romance where you are truly rooting for the couple to find their happy ending. This is the second book I have read from Loveswept (Random House) and I have been thoroughly impressed. I'm looking forward to seeing more books from this author.  I received a copy of this title from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review

I completely escaped into this book over the weekend. It was perfect in that way. I felt like I was Kyla on this getaway into the mountains of Montana with the cowboys, horses, and wilderness. This place sounded like my kind of paradise! With her injuries that still caused her pain, I'm not sure why her friends forced Kyla to go a dude ranch of all places. That wasn't entirely thoughtful of them, but I love the dude ranch atmosphere so it made for a fun read for me. The ARC of Accidental Cowgirl by Maggie McGinnis was provided to me for review. The opinions are my own.

This story could have been a good read for me; however, I had to abort because of the ungodly language.

Best if read in order. The first inncludes hunky cowboys, horses, assorted wildlife encounters, lightening strikes, a barn fire, secrets and more all the ingredients for a good read

The overall story was nice. A bit wordy at times and I didn't feel as if the main characters had much of a true love connection. Would have liked an epilogue to see the ranches fate.

Wonderful Read with Sexy Cowboys Accidental Cowgirl by Maggie McGinnis is a really cute romance that takes place in the Midwest country lands of Montana.  McGinnis creates a fun light read that draws you from the very start when Kyla’s rental car dies in the middle of nowhere. The setting of this book makes you wish you were there with Kyla experiencing the beautiful surroundings. After a long hard year, Kyla Bennett goes on a two week vacation to a ranch, Whisper Creek, with her two best friends, Hayley and Jess.  She leaves on her girls trip immediately following the last day of court that she is testifying against her ex-fiancé, who has done her wrong in every way possible.  The brochure for Whisper Creek promises sexy cowboys and beautiful sunsets.  When her rental car gives out on her and she gets a flat tire in the middle of nowhere with nothing around, she is worried until a cop shows up claiming she is drunk.  Could the start of her vacation get any worse?  After going through a series of sobriety tests a cowboy comes to save her… from the cop and a rattlesnake!  Turns out the sexy cowboy who saved her life is one of the brothers who owns Whisper Creek where she is staying for the next two weeks!  All great news until she finds out, Decker has a girlfriend.  However, Kyla and Decker gets close over the time.  Unfortunately, there are some mean ladies also trying to be seduced by the ruggedly handsome cowboy.  Kyla finds herself constantly in predicaments and in the hospital!  Who are these women trying to get together with Decker?  Does Kyla have a chance or is Decker another lying cheat?  Will this vacation help her to heal and forget all the bad things that have happened over the last year? I really enjoyed reading this novel.  I would give it 4 stars and would recommend it to anyone that likes a good romance and some sexy cowboys.

Reviewed by Aubrey Book provided by NetGalley for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I adore books about cowboys. I do not know if it is because I’m a city girl longing to live out in the country or what. I really liked this novel. It was super sweet and the characters had depth and dimension. I could really relate to Kyla in that I hope to find my forever love in a cowboy or farmer. Kyla comes to Montana with a bunch of baggage. She is scared of life in a way after trusting her ex-fiancé who ended up being a con artist. Her best friends take her on vacation in the hopes that she can leave her past behind her and move on. Little does she know that she fall in love with Montana, Ma and Decker. Decker is one of the the cowboys in charge of the dude ranch. Decker like Kyla is a bit broken and back on the ranch that he grew up on. His past is full of skeletons that need to be explored and dealt with. Together they fight their feelings and learn to heal. At the same time a bunch of accidents keep happening to Kyla. An accidental cowgirl at the end but she certainly comes a long way from where she was when she first came onto the ranch. Kyla is a strong female that needed to realize that she wasn’t weak and what happened to her was not her fault. You really see how she comes to terms with what happened and how she falls for Decker. She really puts herself out there even though Marcy an ex-flame of Decker is out to sabotage the relationship. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Cole and Decker’s mother Ma. I liked how there was a lot of heartache but in the end there was a form of redemption. I will definitely read more by this author and would love to read Cole’s story. It was refreshing to read a novel where I was not able to guess what was going to happen next. The author did a great job at creating characters that you wanted to know more about and that you start to care about. I would have liked to learn more of a back story of Kyla’s best friend Hayley and Jess. I really hope there will be more books with these characters.

Started out as two people gravitate towards each other with what seems like insurmountable obstacles and ends with a very very exciting scene. I highly recommend this book

This was a very sweet romance. I am a regency romance fan, so it was a bit outside my comfort zone to read a cowboy romance, but I'm really glad I took a chance on this one. The couple took things slow, but the story itself did not drag in the least. Not too much explicit 'smut' either, which is refreshing once in a while. I will certainly read more from this author if/when a story of hers is available.
