However, Nathan knows where Danielle...
However, Nathan knows where Danielle is because two days earlier she'd crashed into his car.
Nathan's plan is simple. Get to know Danielle, then convince her to return to the world of advertising and save his company. However, Nathan never expected to be attracted Danielle. Neither did he expect her tragic story and the reason why she left advertising and went into hiding.
Now he has to decide whether to keep her secrets and lose his company.
Or save his company and lose the woman he's fallen in love with.
He laughed and the sound so surprised her she almost missed the smile that made little crinkly lines at the corner of his eyes and creased his left cheek where a dimple suddenly appeared. Now why hadn't she noticed the dimple earlier?
She was a sucker for dimples.
"It's a new trend. By the end of the week anyone who's anyone will have a big dent in the front of their car, too."
So, the man had a sense of humor. Surprise, surprise. Of course it only added to her ... Her what? Infatuation? No, absolutely not. Morbid curiosity. Yes, morbid curiosity. "What's a guy like you doing in a place like this?"
"Isn't that my line?"
"Oh, that's easy, I live here. But you probably already know that because I gave you my address this morning. Remember?"
"As if I could forget. Your car was glued to mine at the time."
"As I recall it was because I was on my cell phone. Did I tell you I don't own a cell phone?"
She got a lot of satisfaction out of his wince.
"Where's your car?"
"It broke. Can't fix it."
"And you're walking home from work?"
She wanted to close her eyes in mortification. So he had seen her at the bookstore. Why could she never find a good sinkhole when she needed one? "Looks like it."
He reached over the passenger seat and popped open the car door. "Get in."
