Meet the Author

Peggy Pond Church (1903-1986) was one of the American West's best-known poets during her later years. Her family, along with several others, was displaced from its home in Los Alamos, New Mexico by the Manhattan Project during World War II. After spending several years in California she returned to New Mexico, where she lived for the rest of her life. She published several books of poetry during her lifetime, and authored a well-known prose work, The House at Otowi Bridge: The Story of Edith Warner and Los Alamos.
