This chick lit werewolf romance is a lighthearted romp

Bobbie Sue Cosmetics saleswoman Marty Andrews works very hard to be the best. She is rapidly climbing up the ladder of success until she was bitten by a mutt while walking her teacup poodle. Now, she has lost control of her temper ready to literally bite off heads, her hair has darkened, and worse, she spots a tail.------------- Desperate she seeks the mangy mutt who bit her to learn what she caught since it is not rabies or mad cow disease. Instead Keegan Flaherty comes to her home to apologize for biting her. He insists he is a werewolf and not a mangy mutt who could not resist taking a nip of her she assumes he is a lunatic albeit she agrees he is not a mangy mutt. He tries to convince her to join his pack, but she continues to believe he is a lunatic, albeit a hunk too. He struggles to persuade her that he can mentor her on life as a full moon howler, but would one trust a lunatic although considering she was almost a hundred percent vegan, she has become a meat lover especially blood raw and is no longer worried about clogged arteries.------------ This chick lit werewolf romance is a lighthearted romp starring a woman who has to revise her goal now that she has been bitten. The changing relationship between Marty and Keegan is humorously filled with double entendres that are sexually and wolfishly biting. Although the heroine¿s asides distract from a fun story line, paranormal romance will enjoy Dakota Cassidy¿s entertaining tale with an alpha twist.-------------- Harriet Klausner

For the first couple of pages I was wondering ¿what kind of a no

For the first couple of pages I was wondering “what kind of a novel is this?”. Colour wheels, and Bobbie-Sue? It took me a bit to get past those first couple of pages. But, thankfully I did, but this book was surprisingly better than expected. I very much so expected a bubble light read, and in some ways it was, but most of the time it was filled with emotion, drama, romance, and adventures. Obviously I need to stop judging book by their covers because this one is very misleading. I didn’t really like Marty at first because I thought she was very superficial, but when the ‘changes’ start to occur in her I started to like her. I liked her feisty attitude and desperation to grab onto anything that was normal. And then there is Keegan. Its weird but I pictured both these characters differently at first and they changed very quickly into something more appealing. With Keegan I pictures a more gentleman like figures that was a big older. I’m not sure hot explain it, but just something that wasn’t very personable and relatable. Perhaps that was how he was supposed to come off. Well that doesn’t matter, what does matter is that he changed for the better after the first chapter! I fell in love with this story and with these characters and I’ve already picked up the next book in the series.

    Good:

The plot—there were some interesting twists and turns at the end that I didn’t see coming.

Marty—Definitely developed into someone I started to like

Keegan—A very appealing, heavy on the appealing, werewolf.

    Bad:

It was a little difficult to get past the first chapter, some of it came across boring but it was all background info.

Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):

Overall this story was very enjoyable and I didn’t expect it to be so good. I found it very easy to read, although I had to get past some of the boring bits in the beginning, and I never really had to re-read anything to understand it. In fact, I found myself flying through it once I really got into it. It was passionate, adventurous, and humorous all rolled into one.

    Quick, Fun Read

I read this book over the weekend and laughed throughout the whole thing. I loved the fact that the main character was quirky and independent. It gave the impression that you can be nice, work hard, and not be a stone cold B. I look forward to reading the next book, which I started today!

    Ok read

I dont like leaving bad comments, more I consider them possible identifiers that can be improved upon. For example, Martys attitude...shes quirky and a bit funny, but VERY unlikable, I do not think she said even one decent thing to the guy, it is constant sarcasm. No guy would want that, so no chemistry there at all yet and Im halfway through the book. I like the story line and thats its a fun read, but she is nasty, almost as nasty as the jealous woman in the story. Im hoping for less sarcasm as I go. So far the ONLY good quality she has is she cant lie well and shes work driven. But the story needs way way way less sarcasm everything out of her mouth is sarcastic and nasty sounding. Her friend Nina is worse but instead if pure sarcasm its just outright nasty, biyotch remarks. Nothing nice ever came out of her mouth. Her only endearing quality was her protectiveness of her friend. I dont like to give a "bad" review so there are good qualities, the hero is very likable and has the patience of a saint for dealing with her sarcasm. The sarcasm is definitely funny in some parts, just way too much sarcasm takes away from the story and it is not funny any longer when its the main character. I still say buy it, because everyones tastes are different, some like super sarcastic heroines. I personally think its way over the top. But please give it a try, its still a nice light fun read.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!

The cover is cute and fun :)  I listened to the audiobook, but I’m pretty sure I own the paperback too though it is lost in my library somewhere.  One day I will put it in some type of order and catalog them :)

The narrator for this book is Meredith Mitchell, and she definitely made it fun to listen to :)

I enjoyed listening while doing some work at home.  This is my first book by Dakota, and I definitely liked it and will continue with this series in the future.  I easily connected with the characters and story and was definitely chuckling throughout the story.  I love when an author can be me chuckle out loud.

Marty is a strong, independent and hard working which I love :)  Keegan is very Alpha, and I love his sense of responsibility and also that he has morals.

I recommend this book for anyone who loves a good werewolf book with some humor mixed in :)

NUMBER OF HEARTS:  3 3/4 REVIEW:   I have to say that this story

    NUMBER OF HEARTS:  3 3/4
    REVIEW:
I have to say that this story started a little slow for me.  It seemed to take a long time for Marty & Keegan to get things togethers.  But after it got going I really enjoyed this book.  I enjoyed Marty’s obsession with color wheels and Keegan’s obsession with Marty.  The twists and turns on the who done it kept me guess for a while.  I was wrong on some parts and right on others.   I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I listened to this book on audio.  Meredith Mitchell did a pretty good job of narrating this.  There were a few things that were a little ho hum in her reading.  I was not over wilde about all the male voices, some of them were a little to high pitched for my liking (but the one really did fit the character).  And the sexy scense were a little blah in the reading, not a whole lot of feeling behind them.  But I can understand that, it has to be terrible hard to read a sexy scene out loud.
A couple funny lines from Marty and Keegan:
    “Holy Fur and Fury!!” Marty
“That is how Muff nailed me.” Keegan
If you are looking for a fun read I would suggest picking up a copy of this book or head over to audible and listen to the sample.
    Disclaimer:
I received a complimentary copy of the audio book from Tantor in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

    Keep on looking...

Don't waste your time or money.

For how detailed the sex scenes are, you'd think the author could have put a little more thought into the rest of the book.

The main character has to be rescued time and again. She's a complete ditz and it doesn't come off in an endearing or humorous way. She's irritating, running off at the mouth and repeating herself for pages about the same thing.

Another character, Nina, is a compete psycho. Who actually acts like she does in real life?

Spoiler: The argument between Marty, Wanda, and Nina in front of the alley just drags on and on. It's completely unnecessary and just irritating.

Honestly, just skip this one. Keep on looking for a different series.

It's really too bad. I had high hopes this would be a nice little book. Maybe check out the Naked Werewolf series instead.

    worst book I ever read.

don't waste your money, dry humor that did not come together, I have read books for 99 cents that was better, plot all over the place it was painful to finish reading. If I could get my money back I would so want it back.. Can't submit my review without a rating, but I would give it NO stars.

    Utter Rot!

What a waste of time. If the author had spent as much time in the REST of the story's details as she did with the sex scences, this might have been a good read. She hints at things but then doesn't bring it to fruition. The Council "issue" looms thtoughout the story, only to be wrapped up in 2 pages, almost like an afterthought. The worst thing though is this COULD have been a great and funny book...unfortunately it was neither.

Oh my gosh! Best book i read in a while

I am a big reader, i usually read 2 or 3 books a week. I first got this book and it started off slow. I kept reading though and I am sure glad I did. I would have regretted it if I didnt. The only thing I wanna say is that this book should not be read by someone under the age of 17. It goes into great detail and I read the whole series in about 2 weeks. It was fabulous to read! Buy this book!

    A Refreshing Accident

This is a good story and concept for a series. the refreshing part is the way the story holds together till the end, It does not break down in detail or just rush to an ending.
