Emmy hates her boss Kyle Sterling. She does the unthinkable after a night of drinking and sleeps with him. Before she can even begin to put the enormous mistake behind her, she finds herself snowed in for a long weekend with Kyle. The pair not only get cozy while the storm rages outside, but Emmy sees a side of Kyle that she didn't know could possibly exist beneath his hard, temperamental exterior.

When the storm is over, Emmy insists on moving on, especially since Kyle has a long-standing girlfriend, socialite and heiress Jessyca Venner. Soon Emmy starts dating Luke Kessler, and even as their relationship grows serious, she finds Kyle hard to shake. Kyle aggressively pursues Emmy without mercy, despite the fact that she clearly loves Luke. Armed with the knowledge that Jessyca possess sensitive and alarming information that has the enormous potential of destroying Sterling Corporation, Kyle refuses to cut ties with her until he is able to find a way to save the family business from devastation.

Emmy, unable to resist Kyle any longer, begins to make a series of bad decisions that result in heartbreaking, life altering, and even devastating consequences.

Is there hope for Emmy or will she lose everything? Will she be able to forgive Kyle for a terrible act? Will she be able to forgive herself? Most importantly, is there enough alcohol in the world to deal with her loud mouth, overbearing, and over opinionated mother?

This book had me furious until the very last sentence.  I could not control my anger throughout this book.  Warning: here comes some spoilers….so stop reading if you must. Emmy falls in love with Kyle and then she falls in love with Luke (while still loving Kyle.)  She is torn between both men because she honestly loves both and cannot let either go.  This affair goes on for a while until it breaks (Luke leaves her.)  I am not going into all the detail to ruin the whole book for future readers.  However, when one man leaves, things start spiraling out of control for Emmy.  Things happen to Emmy that I would have never thought she would stand for.  Her character is strong and loud mouthed; however in the middle of the book she loses this feature and becomes meek.  Kyle becomes dangerous and hurts her (and later we find out that he was doing Meth this entire time…what?) and finally Emmy leaves.  Big events happen and she moves in with Luke because she found out that she was carrying his child and a relationship starts back up (who of course, I was rooting for in the beginning.)  The kicker is that when she has to return to Jersey because her bar burns down, she still spends time with Kyle…while she has her son with her.  Lets recap shall we?  He beats the living snot of her because she is on meth when she leaves the first time so why in the world would she even allow him around her OR HER SON?!?!?! He is dangerous!  And then Emmy doesn’t understand why Luke is upset when she tells him that she met up with Kyle (although he doesn’t know what he has done to her yet, he knows that something bad happened.)  She makes bad decisions. I wanted to smack Emmy in the face the entire book for making her life hell and Luke’s life hell.  I could care less about the character Kyle because he was a jerk!  She made the worst decisions in her life and never learned from them.   Now this book is a read that will toy with your emotions (mostly anger) and there are redeeming qualities in it that made me want to continue reading until it was finished.  It really just threw me for a loophole on how I felt about all of it.  Yes, I hated the fact that Emmy just screwed everything up. I wanted to punch her and I didn’t care for her character. However, I felt that most of these situations could really happen in life.  To be in love with two people is common for some.  To not know who to pick or when to walk away from a relationship is common as well.  I believe Davis pulled from real life events (maybe nothing that happened in actual life but something that could.)  It was just I liked it for a few pages and then I hated it for a few chapters…and that was the cycle until I finished.~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

Think of your most self destructive friend.....that is Emmy. This book was so frustrating because she is so conflicted even when the choices are crystal....I mean CRYSTAL CLEAR! She gets more chances than she deservew and is so whinny ita miracle that i ended up enjoying the book.

I went in to this book expecting one thing and got something totally different. Insanity. Pure, unadulterated insanity. I love this book because it is gritty and raw and real. It doesn't portray Emmy as an innocent victim. It shows how she is responsible for a lot of her mess. I like that. She is whiny, but everyone is, they just don't see it about themselves. Luke is amazing, and I wanted to smack Emmy for doing what she does, but I myself have made a mess out of relationships, so I got where she was during her dilemma(s). The part about the meth came to light about 70% in to the story. It definitely explained a lot. A lot. I am also satisfied to have it all brought to light at that point because it just fit, not real sure how to word what I want to say, so I hope you get the point. It was like when we know a friend is in a bad spot, and one day said friend reveals how bad things truly are, and we feel let in on the situation, like she trusts us to open up. Does that make sense. Anyway, this is NOT light read, however, there are some truly funny, laugh out loud moments. The cover on the copy I have had me thinking it was going to be light hearted love triangle kind of story. Misleading, and I am so happy about that. I recommend this book to everyone because, well, I just do.

Could not put it down and finished it as soon as I bought it!! For 99 cents on my nook it was over 600 pages, which is great!! I couldn't decide who I wanted Emmy with and my feelings changed throughout the book. I was heartbroken along with the characters and could not stop reading.

Did not like this book. I found myself irritated with the characters through the entire book. The only reason I finished it is because I make myself finish every book I begin. The main character was developed as a weak, selfish, slutty woman who ended up losing herself and allowing herself to be abused. It was a like a poorly written Lifetime movie. If you like drama it is for you, if you need to relate to the characters in any way this is probably not going to be one of your favorites,

So many books become predictable, but this had a good storyline thst kept my interest. I was surprised by some of the twists and conflicted at times as to how I wanted the story ro progress. It is well written and earned its rating!

I read this book a few months ago, and as I was perusing through it in order to write my review I was reminded of what a ride this book is. Seriously, it is all over the place emotionally. You will laugh, you might cry, you will definitely get angry at several of the characters. Ok, all of the characters. Emmy thinks her boss is a total jerk, which is why she – of course – begins an affair with him. In her defense, when presented with Kyle, he is quite the panty dropper. The problem is that he is in a serious relationship with another woman. Yeah…not a smart move on your part, Emmy. She does try to stop, but seems compelled towards him. Even when she meets another, nearly perfect man, she can’t get stop with Kyle. So ensues the drama, headaches, emotional blackmail, lying, cheating and all around shenanigans that make up this book. I liked this book, I did. Even with the cheating and the characters who aren’t very likeable (save 1), I devoured this book in a day. I had to find out what happened, and I had to see how it all flushed out. And while the ending was relatively happy, I’m not so sure it was realistic. But I guess there probably aren’t a lot of men like Luke in the world, with a heart so big, he forgives even the most seemingly unforgivable sin a person in a relationship can commit. There are some very serious issues addressed in this book. Addiction and abuse being among them. I thought the author really handled this with a deftness that pulls the reader in. Even if the characters weren’t very likable, they were real, and therefore their plights become yours. That is the attraction and achievement of this book. 4 stars from me. I loved the story, a little bit too dramatic, but overall a good read.

I can not tell you how many times I had tears in my eyes from laughing at some of the things said in this book. The sarcastic humor is right up my alley so I really enjoyed it. It also served to offset the sometimes dark drama going on in the story. The characters, writing style, and story line all wove together to make a great book. There is actually a four way love story going on here and it gets mighty complicated. However it mostly focuses on Emmy torn between Kyle and Luke. I have to say that despite my best efforts I did not like Kyle. I wanted to shake Emmy at times for her decisions and really liked Luke. Both men are hot in their own right but where Kyle is a little more dark and brooding, Luke is more carefree and lighthearted. As I was reading I was a bit frustrated at times by the vagueness of certain scenes but as I progressed through the story it made sense. It was a really interesting style of writing for a romance novel. I usually see it in mystery or suspense books but this totally worked and gave me one more reason to keep reading with anticipation as to what would happen next. The characters were written well but mostly focused on the 3 main characters. This was a dark and dramatic story at times but had plenty of light moments and with a good story line it is well worth the read. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars!

Such a good read. Good enough to read more than once. I wanted to smack emmy a few times for her stupidity. And i wanted to beat the hell outta Kyle. Just a great book. It won't disappoint.

This was a well written romance minus the cheese factor. The love triangle betwen Emmy, Kyle and Luke had me biting my nails, laughing and crying. The story plot kept my interest from beginning to end and now I find myself writting this review a couple of months after finishig the book. I found refreshing that Emmy could be such a strong and independent woman who finds herself weakened by the love and lust she felt for these two men. Great read! Enjoy.

I really enjoyed reading this book.  I think that most of us can relate to Emmy being torn between 2 men.  I understood why and how she ended up with each of them, but I really wished that she would have made different decisions.  I know, I didn't write the book.  Her journey was a bit heartwrenching in parts, but that's part of her pennance - so to speak.  I hated seeing Luke's heart break so many times since he is such a good guy.  I got angry at Kyle repeatedly until that last piece of the puzzle fit into place towards the end of the book.  I didn't exactly feel sorry for him, but I understood his previous actions better.  I had a lot of little nagging questions throughout the book.  To my surprise, they were all answered by the end of the book and I wasn't left hanging.  I must say that this was one of the steamiest love trianges I have read.  I enjoyed it so much that it is easily a book that I would re-read.  Thank you Ms. Davis!  I look forward to reading Worthy of Redemption.
