Overview

Barely 18 years old, James Grey has enlisted in the Army and is headed for the battlefields of WWII. But he’s bringing the skills of a spiritualistic medium with him behind enemy lines, and when he arrives, he learns he’s not the only one with this gift. Enter Inge, who works for the Nazis and is determined to destroy the group of mystics known as the Pagan Resistance. And then there’s the reclusive Laura Spencer, a beautiful English woman who’s captured James’ eye and his heart. This paranormal thriller pits good against evil, the spiritual against the physical, and war against peace as the young GI James Grey battles to help spirits rest and reconcile his feelings for the mysterious Laura Spencer, who may be hiding more than anyone knows.

Accursed is the first book of a trilogy (Accursed, Underbelly, Eidolon) exploring occultism amongst the Greatest Generation.

Meet the Author

I'm a UK based self-published author specialising in historical paranormal fiction, with most of my stories linked in some way. I work in an office during the day and write when I can, which seems to be less and less these days, unfortunately. I’ve been writing for quite a few years now and the books that I am most proud of writing are my debut novel, Accursed, and the sequels, Underbelly and Eidolon. This series features a novice spiritualist and GI, James Grey, as the protagonist, and explores occultism during World War II and through to the Cold War. I’ve always been interested in history and find the ‘40s and ‘50s a fascinating period of conflict, paranoia and suspicion, and that’s without incorporating the supernatural element. My great-grandmother was a practising medium who people travelled to see, and while she never took to the stage or reached the dizzy heights that James Grey achieves, their abilities are the same. The gift has not reached my generation (or at least not yet). While I can remember her, I can’t say for certain how gifted she was, though I have heard a lot of stories about her over the years which may have subconsciously manifested in this trilogy. My works vary greatly in length, from short stories and novellas to mammoth books - Eidolon has a word count of almost 530,000. More information about my books can be found at my website.
