The Alkaline diet is a diet that stress on having fresh fruit and vegetables. It's based on food our ancestors ate. It is exactly opposite the high protein, high fat, low Carb diets that are currently in vogue.Foods are generally categorized as acid or alkaline based on the residue they leave in the human body after they have been metabolized.A Slightly Alkaline Body Is Crucial For Good Health. This diet also helps you lose weight since it contain fresh vegetables, salads, leafy greens, omega oils, nuts, seeds, pulses, whole grains. Vegetables which are fresh, in season, and prepared well without an overdose of butter, cheese, deep fried are preferred.

I just reviewed the sample and as far as I can see this has nothing whatever to do with balancing pH OR being vegan. The recipes include such things as bacon and bacon drippings, soy sauce, sugar, mayo, vinegar, ramen noodles...just to name a few. This is just another recipe book based on unhealthy was of eating. This author has jumped on a bandwagon of health in name only. If you are interested in balancing your pH and regaining your health DON'T GET THIS BOOK. Try looking at material by Robert and Shelley Young to get started.
