The 2nd edition of ACLS Quick Review Study Guide offers a complete, concise overview of ACLS (advanced cardiovascular life support), acute coronary syndromes, and acute stroke. Full-color throughout, it has been updated to reflect the new 2000 guidelines for CPR and emergency cardiovascular care. It features easy-to-access information with Stop and Review quizzes in each chapter and a comprehensive pre-test and post-test. Plus, the updated 2nd edition now includes a new chapter on The ABCDs of Emergency Cardiac Care, a new chapter on Acute Ischemic Stroke, and an expanded chapter on Airway Management. An all-new section of case presentations is also included, based on the 10 core algorithms of emergency cardiovascular care. In addition to being an outstanding study tool, the ACLS Quick Review Study Guide, 2nd Edition, is the official text for the American Safety and Health Institute ACLS certification course. Great book

Well organized, great illustrations, and certainly a better text than the AHAs. Contrary to the other reviewer's remarks, there are MANY organizations that recognize ACLS completion cards from companies other than the AHA.

    'Lengthy Comprehensive Study Guide'

After using the 1st edition ACLS Study Guide for nearly 10 years, I eagerly bought the 2nd edition when it became available. What a disappointment! It is anything but a 'quick review'. The eight page index of miniscule print should be a clue. In addition, two of the answers on the pretest (#33 and #39) contradict information in the text. For that reason, I question the validity of this new edition. Also, be aware that the book does not follow the guidelines of the AHA which is the only certificate many employers recognize.
