This is a concise, clearly written, and humurous book that provides the reader with an excellent understanding of the causes and available treatments for acne. It dispels the myths that surround the reasons for acne and helps the thoughtful consumer avoid the myriad of ineffective treatments that are widely available for this common skin problem. Personally, using this book as a guide, I have been able to treat this condition very effectively. It is a very well written, inexpensive, and helpful book that I could not recommend more highly. It's funny too.

I've seen the author's name in the NY Times Science section, so I was interested in his book before I got it. But after using it for a while, I agree that it's helpful and informative and user friendly. The best thing about it for me is how it makes me feel as though this doctor is right at my side, gently telling me a lot of what I need to deal with my skin. He seems to anticipate my questions and answer them before I have to ask! It's a terrific book that I can't recommend it highly enough.
