Good read with lots of action but also great explanations of equipment, tactics, etc. Any modern soldier etc will like this read because the author explains why things were done certian ways based on thier AO. Interesting to compare to today's tactics, especially if you've been in the sandbox some these last ten years at all.

Anyone interested in SOF history or military books will enjoy this book. The author recounts his tour running recon for MACV SOG in 1968-9. Its short, w many pages in the 367 total being blank orhaving only 1 pic. And the last 40 pgs are postscript.

First of two the author penned. Excellent "true story" recollection by one of the men who fought this gallant Green Beret fight. As a USAF "Covey" Prairie Fire O2 pilot, I was honored to fly over and provide air cover for these teams. Other than mentioning a 2.75mm rocket, which was in inches (and that's no biggy) the details are extraordinary. Highly recommended.

I've been reading non-fictional military books for over fifty years and in all that time this book is right at the top. I could not put this book down! Thank you mr Meyer for your incredible service and for sharing with us what it was like going across the fence.
