Jelbert covers the basics of acrylics and some further creative techniques; Carole Massey teaches flower painting; and David Hyde, landscapes. Portraiture and other genres are missing. A better choice is Sally Harper's comprehensive The Acrylics & Gouache Artist's Handbook.

Wendy Jelbert is a teacher and a professional artist who works with pastels, oils, acrylics, inks, and watercolors. She is the author of several books, including "Wendy Jelbert's Line & Wash" and "Wendy Jelbert's Water-Soluble Pencils." Carole Massey is a practicing instructor and an exhibiting artist. She is the author of "Figures in Watercolour," "Flowers in Acrylics," and "Water Soluble Pencils." David Hyde is a self-taught artist and the author of "Landscapes in Acrylics."
