Passionate Painting Being a seasoned artist, I wasn't really sure what to expect from Tesia Blackburn's debut book, "Acrylic Painting with Passion." I've been a fan of her work for years and have heard wonderful things about her art classes but wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to translate this talent in to words. As it happens, she's completed the feat wonderfully. While the title speaks of passion, it's the front cover that truly sings of it. Tesia's passion for art is evident by just looking at the paintings she's chosen to represent her. The same is true of the examples she has used throughout the entire book; each one is a perfect and inspirational representation of the techniques she's describing. I also couldn't help but admire the way she's written the book. She speaks so lovingly of art, tackling in-depth subjects where necessary but without overcomplicating things. The book is also clear and well structured, making it an easy read. Unlike most books on the subject, "Acrylic Painting with Passion" teaches us much more than simple techniques. Tesia gives us some insightful exercises and tips to help anyone deal with a blank canvas as well as lack of inspiration, all the while teaching us how to paint when time, money, and ideas are lacking. "The hardest part of making art is getting started," Tesia tells us in the book, as well as teaching us how to overcome this. Overall the book is a treasure trove of inspiration for seasoned artists and beginners alike. Tesia gives us an original and refreshing outlook on the subject as she shares with us her many years of wisdom. The promises passion and it certainly delivers, along with much, much more.

This book showed me that things are not as difficult as they seem to a self taught person in abstract painting. Thank you to the author.
