I purchased this book for my son so that we could get a better idea of just how comprehensive the ACT test is, and its level of difficulty, so that we could determine whether or not we should hire a private tutor. I don’t think a tutor would have been any more helpful than this book was, and would have cost me about 100 times more. I do believe the thickness of the book intimidated my son a bit, but I’ve gotten him to agree to one chapter a week and so far this has worked out pretty well. It comes with a practice CD with five complete tests inside so you can get a realistic idea of your capabilities in each of the five sections, and what areas need further review.
