Get ready for a sprawling epic western romance. Most of it is cliched and boring but the afterlife part gets very interesting quickly. The visualization of Paradise and millennial Earth with resurrected beings working alongside mortals in a near perfect zion is fascinating and reminiscent of Lewis' The Great Divorce. Anderson also gets in an awesomely unabashed plug for the exalted place of an author in the hereafter. Boring for any but historical enthusiasts curious about the Very First Mormon Novel, or to see what an LDS spirit world could actually be like.. Imperfect but readable copy.
