    Addicted to You

ADDICTED TO YOU, released by AmErica House is a depiction of one Child¿s journey, narrated from the seed in the womb into a scandalous adulthood filled with heartache and pain. Heartache that began from the moment of conception, as the very same woman who gave her life would ultimately be the one accused of destroying it. Growing up in the inner city of Chicago, Nickie Brown already had two strikes against her. ONE - her mother was addicted to drugs, and TWO - her father was addicted to drugs. From day one, Nickie begins her journey struggling for her life, as her mother would repeatedly inflict the ultimate crime of betrayal against her newborn child. A betrayal so cutting it would not only scar her for life, but also contaminate her mind, body and soul. Though Nickie¿s journey would continue, with permanent scars on her soul and an undeniable vengeance in her heart, she was determined now, more than ever, to break that vicious cycle of drug abuse and become drug free; but in the mean, callous streets of Chicago, that was going to be virtually impossible to do. When Nickie, a young woman now, is ridiculed by her best friend, and discarded by her parents, her journey suddenly self-destructs and sends her running into the arms of the wrong man, Andre Bland. Thought to be her savior, Andre quickly becomes her worst nightmare, using his fist to not only bruise her face, but to batter her heart as well. As Nickie surrenders and commits herself to Andre, she¿s destined to repeat the mistakes of her parents, sharing Andre¿s drug-addiction and struggling a second time around to survive, just as she had at birth. NICKIE¿S LIFE WOULD ULTIMATELY HIT ROCK BOTTOM... Coming within an inch of her life, she reawakens from a drug-induced coma determined to reclaim her life and go back to school. Her battles are many, but the love and soul of her new man strengthens her and proves to be all the man she needs. Together, just like Bonnie and Clyde, they do whatever it takes to escape the cesspool of drugs and degradation and strive to start a family together. On the brink of victory, Andre resurfaces and the reunion proves to be bittersweet, ending in deadly consequences¿ Embark on this journey without band-aides and see if it¿s really addicting to you.

    Addicted to You

Oh my God! I have never read anything so touching in my life! I don't know anything about drugs since I don't use them nor do I know anyone that does. But you have brought me into the world of drugs as seen by the most innocent of all, a baby. I want to cry for this child born into such a situation. I tip my hat to you as a writer and a woman who can, hopefully, turn an expectant mother from such use and save the innocent life of her child.

    Addicted to you is intriguing!!

A great book to read on cool rainy day. The characters come alive and you find yourself living in an unspoken world. A place where you enter into the mind and soul of a young woman, plagued by addiction and abuse. The author has a way of enlightening you to innermost parts of addiction and how it affects the lives of others. Addicted to you is a soulful piece of work; I truly enjoyed it.
