    Very Informative

I have found that many people and family members have different addictions with puzzling behavior. This book helped clarify the characteristics of addiction. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an addiction or has relationships with a addicted person

    A must read

I read this book in two days... I tend to use a highlighter in books I enjoy. This books is full of yellow highlighter marks! Ever wonder the how and why of "power centered" people or "pleasure centered" folks? This book is a fantastic layman source for understanding addictions and behaviors. If you've EVER experienced someone with an addiction and you can't understand their thinking. READ THIS BOOK. It will save your sanity.

accurately tackles a complex topic with simplicity

Haven't yet finished the 2nd book, 'The Addictive Personality', but 'Addictive Thinking' was a Godsend for me. Various types of addiction have plagued my family for generations, and this concise, well-thought-out book helped me begin to under-stand the disease process more than any other reading has. Most profound 'take-home point' for me was the difference between GUILT and SHAME, and their roles in addiction. A must-read for those who suffer as addiction touches the lives all involved.
