She was seeking revenge. What she found was a vampire who swept her into the darkest depths of passion.

Chicago, Illinois . . . the windy city. Home to football greats, dinosaurs named Sue, and, when the sun goes down . . . powerful vampires battling for the right to rule the city and beyond.

Born into slavery, Aden is one of the most powerful vampires in North America, waging war on others of his kind in a struggle to become the next Lord of the Midwest. But in the midst of the deadliest fight of his long life, the ghosts of his past have come back to haunt him. Slavery still exists, and Aden is hellbent on destroying it and the vampires who profit from it.

Sidonie Reid is an investigative reporter in pursuit of the biggest story of her career, until that story costs the life of a friend and Sid realizes she has to do much more than write about it. Intent on bringing down the vampires and their slave network, Sid gains entry to the highest levels of vampire society, where she finds herself confronting the raw sexuality that is Aden.

Caught up in a dark passion that neither can resist, Aden and Sidonie join forces, determined to defeat the old regime and everything it stands for. The dangers are beyond calculation, but the ultimate reward is worth the risk. If they survive . . .

Aden's past is heartbreaking. You really feel for his situation, and understand his attitude. Wish his past was revealed a little earlier in the book. Sidonie's aggressive, determination for revenge is admirable. When she got herself into trouble my heart was racing. I look forward to more D.B. Reynolds books.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!! ***Received ebook from Belle Books for an honest review The cover is beautiful though I imagine Aden much bigger :) This is the 7th full novel in the Vampires in America series, and while they can be read standalone, I recommend reading them all in order with the novellas and short stories, so you don’t miss anything :)  I tend to hate reading and wondering…wait when did that happen…lol so reading them in order is how I avoid that :)  This is for adults only since there is sexual content and violence and lots of it :) Sidonie is a brave and strong female lead.  I love that in a lead :)  Aden is a broody male, but he grew on me fast, and he definitely puts up a front.  I seem to fall in love with all the vamps and mates allied with Raphael and Cyn…lol  As always in this series, tons of action, steamy scenes, and trouble coming out of the woodwork everywhere :) Wow, I really love this series.  D.B. is a fantastic writer with all the plot twists, action, and descriptions that make the story jump off the page.  She is definitely one of my top authors for vampire romance :)  She amazes me with all of her creativity to come up with all these complex stories that keep me wanting more and coming back :) I highly recommend this series to all vampire romance lovers especially if you love Lynsay Sands and Kerrelyn Sparks vamp series’, you will want to add this series to the list to read :)

I was able to obtain this arc through ImaJinn Books via Netgalley. When I was able to get this one, I could hardly wait to read it. Even though its the seventh installment in the series, I found Aden to be a sexy paranormal romance that held my attention from page one. The story begins when Sidonie is desperate to get her story out about slavery. So she meets up with a powerful vampire, Aden, who is close to gaining the power of the Midwest. Sidonie doesn't trust Aden further than she can throw him, but after meeting him she knows she will have to watch carefully, because he could be very dangerous, not physically but emotionally. Sidonie is determined to prove how horrid slavery is and its spreading like wildfire. If only she only knew how Aden feels toward slavery of any form. Aden was once a slave before he became a vampire, and he knows horrific truth of it all. When Aden first meets the redhead, he doesn't want anything more than a sexual nature, however when Sidonie's life is threatened and they are thrown into a war zone, Aden knows that he will do everything to save her even at the cost of losing everything he has worked for. I loved the style of the story of Aden. Aden is a powerful alpha male that is for sure, and doesn't let anyone stand in his way. That is until Sidonie arrives upon the scene. He has many alpha characteristics, and comes off way strong, but I love how he doesn't let Sid have her way, instead he practically backs her into a corner. Sidonie isn't used to not getting her way, so when she meets Aden every good intention is thrown out the window every time he touches her and inflames the passion that has been hiding beneath the surface. The relationship between Aden and Sidonie is quite steamy at times( a warning that it does have a bit of a BDSM element) , but I also loved how the author put in the aspect of softer side to the relationship. There is quite a bit of a danger and intrigue element that is put into play in the plot, that only strengthened the tone of the story. Overall I fell in love with Aden. This is the first book that I have read from this author. And until I came across this book the first time I heard of this author. I read the latest book in the series, so I still need to get my hands on the other six. Very excited to read those installments and see if they are just as good as this title was. A thrilling tale of paranormal vampires, sizzling desire, and some intense action packed story. A WINNER!!

I don't write reviews much, however, after reading this series again for the 3rd time I figured an honest review was needed. DB Reynolds know how to weave a compelling story. I know this sounds stupid since we're talking Vampires but these stories are believable. Some paranormal romances have some pretty far fetched plots and characters. From the first book Raphael to this one; each have unique story lines with twists and turns around each bend. Some of the same things happen in each.....big bad vampire meets beautiful, sexy, intelligent, independent human woman and falls in love but doesn't want to recognize or acknowledge it. Each mate is unique and gives the vampire a run for his money which i so enjoy. Each female has her own unique strengths and weaknesses. One thing Ms. Reynolds does that other writers don't is weave the characters from her previous books into each new book; i.e. Cyn and Raphael, making brief appearances in Jabrils story or Adens story. These appearances may be brief, but refreshing. All the characters are loveable and worthy of a readers allegience for lack of a better term. I'd love to see a book where all the characters come together for a celebration or something; calm before the storm perhaps? Anyways, if you love vampires, sex, intrigue and a good story this series is for you. You wont be disappointed, however, if you are easily offended by explicit sex scenes better not start this series. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I just wish Barnes and Noble carried the novellas. Thank you DB Reynolds!

REVIEW  This my first time having read a book from this Author and while I have not read the previous 6 books in this series I will give my review as honest as I can.  We have Sidonie Reid who is sitting in the backseat of a rescue squad holding the hand of Jane who has been shot up with drugs although its made to look like an overdose Sid knows better.  Sid is a reporter/writer and is the daughter of a very wealthy family . She intends to end this sex/drug ring if it’s  the last thing she does and she knows she has to go to the top to get help. Sidonie goes to an event where  they are going to announce the next Vampire Lord of Chicago and everyone seems to think the Vampire who will be chosen is Aden. So Sidonie goes over and introduces herself to this tall, dark and sexy vampire. Aden is intrigued with Sid and asks that she come to see him the next night and hands her his card.  There is a lot of action in this book I’d call it more old Chicago mafia style.. Very well written to keep you  wanting to read .. There is also a lot of Attraction , Some mild BDSM very well written  Aden is a tortured soul a very sexy Vampire but very damaged  Sidonie well she is one tough cookie but can Aden break her? Is she woman enough to finally stand by Aden? The book is very well written and I wish I had read the previous 6 books but with what I have read I am rating  it 5 stars !! I will definitely go back and read the last 6 books in this series !!

This series got to my heart after book 2 and I believe that each new character will get my love as the previous ones. However, when I started this book, Aden was so dark, so lethal, that he scared me and I thought I couldn't love him or appreciate his story. This book has also a theme that disturbs me: slavery. Well, he's dark allright and lethal. It wasn't right at the beginning but he got my heart as he got Sidonie's. Aden proved to be a vampire that respects his people and fights for them. He's capable of loving someone and taking care of innocents. The plot behind the slavery going on in Chicago was terrible but also intesting from a reader POV. I loved this story and knowing this new vampire lord.

Sidonie(Sid) Reid is an investigated reporter that's trying to put an end to slavery ring in Chicago which grew under The Late Lord Klemens. She just needs to find the right vampire to tell what is going on in this territory. Sid's date Travis(Trav) snags coveted invitation to Vampire Gala where the Lords from surrounding territories give their blessing for challenge in succession to begin. Only Aden appears to be the next Lord of Midwest Territory and is no stranger to what it means to be a slave. When Sid explains that there is slavery ring operating in the territory she unknowningly triggers a surprising reaction from Aden. Aden is thrust back into the past where he was a slave to suffer the pleasure or displeasure of his mistress or master whim. Aden surprisingly wants to protect Sid from harm and help her end slavery ring.  Sid reveals that Aden and company missed an important vampire in slavery ring named Carl Pinto but Aden shrugs it off. Will the slavery ring be stopped? What does Sid mean to Aden? Will Aden become next Vampire Lord? Your answers await you in Aden. I just adore this series. I've found a new favorite in Aden. Please don't get me wrong I love Raphael and Lucas but there is just something about Aden that curls my toes. All I can think is one word Yum! I found that Sidonie Reid is on par as heroine as Cyn. She can match Aden toe to toe and thensome. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in series. I think it needs to hurry up though!

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle: D.B Reynolds is a master storyteller, and Aden does not disappoint! While I didn't love it as much as some of the others in the series, DB has turned writing love scenes into an absolute art, and the growth of the world for this series continues to amaze.  Aden isn't officially Lord of the Midwest, yet. Despite the support from Raphael and the other Lords he still has to prove himself formally. He hasn't had an easy life - from orphan to slave to vampire he's clawed his way to where he is now, and he won't accept anything less than everything.  Sidonie is an investigative reporter looking into the human trafficking ring that the previous vampire lord was running, but things behind the vampire curtain are anything but 'safe', and there are surprises around every turn, including the fascination and attraction she feels for the uber powerful Aden.  As I mentioned, the love scenes in this book were SMOKIN'! Just... wow. I didn't feel the soul deep romantic connection between Aden and Sid that I have with other couples of the ViA series, but it was still wonderful.  I can't wait for Vincent, and I am really looking forward to any shorts that DB puts out next because our mates just keep getting more and more interesting!  In addition, as I also mentioned, the story arc just continues to progress and build, and I can't wait to see where D.B takes us with the final outcome of the machinations of Raphael and the other Lords.  Most definitely recommended.

Aden (Vampires in America #7) by D.B. Reynolds Investigative reporter, Sidonie Reid, is on a quest for justice in the name of a friend who was murdered after being enslaved by vampires.   Determined to bring down the slave syndicate, she enlists the help of  Aden a powerful vampire that is predicted to become the next Lord of the Midwest. Unbeknown to Sidonie, Aden was a slave in his human life and will not tolerate slavery in his soon-to-be territory.   I’ve been wanting to read the Vampires in America Series for a long time so when I got the opportunity to review this book, I had to grab it.  I usually prefer to read a series in order, but I could  follow this book with no problems what so ever.  I definitely want to go back and read the rest of the books in order this time.   Being from Chicago, I do like that this book takes place there.  However, even if it did not I would still love this book.  The plot is captivating.  The characters are well defined. This was the first book I read by D.B. Reynolds.  She is a talented author.  I will definitely read more of her work.   ARC provided publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first read for D.B. Reynolds and I really enjoyed it. The writing was great, the story grabbed my attention from the first page and the characters were fascinating. I loved the power struggle in the Midwest territories between the vampire candidates. Having read the series out of order, I find that I wasn’t lost in the storyline. I would have liked to have more background on other characters so I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series. I also loved Aden’s seduction of Sidonie, although it didn’t take much because she wanted him too. It was a sensually erotic journey that had my breath hitching every time the two were in close proximity to each other. I love vampire books and this was a wonderful twist on the myth. A refreshing story laced in brutality and eroticism. If you love vampires, you’ll love this book. ***I received an ebook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

How on earth does DBR keep upping her game? Wheaties? Because that's what she's done - again - with ADEN. Where many series can get stale at this point, DB's vamps just gets yummier and, in ADEN, more dangerous. The world-building gets more detailed. The romance gets hotter (and I do mean HOT!). And the 5 star reviews keep flowing. Brava, D. B. Reynolds. Another fabulous entry in the Vampires in America series. Thank you!!!

THE VERY BEST OF A BRILLIANT SERIES! Compelling, powerful and passionate; this merely scrapes the surface of who ADEN really is! My expectations of each new story in this series are always high, as I have been a fervent fan since the release of Raphael in 2009. However, the depth of complexity and evolution of the world and characters that D.B.Reynolds has created never ceases to leave me gasping in awe. ADEN is a multifaceted creature, with a violent, dark persona and yet utterly focused and committed to achieving his goal; becoming the next Lord of the Midwest. His personal demons prevent him from allowing any closeness that may result in treachery or deception, and his only affection is for those he calls his own. Sidonie; well she’s a breath of fresh air.  While Ms Reynolds has provided many strong female leads in the past, none have come close to the strength of presence as Raphael’s Cyn. However, Sidonie is a force of nature in her own right; her depth of compassion, fearless loyalty and overall magnetism are captivating.  The description of what is yet to come for the Vampires in America ensures that the reader feels like this is just the beginning, as there’s so much more to come.  While Raphael & Cyn continue to be my favourite couple, there is no denying that ADEN is Ms Reynolds most intense, riveting and sensual book by far!
