Overview

It isn't so easy to kill a telepath. Or contain him. Those that must hold absolute evil shielded from the world, fight to restore tenuous balance against a force they can no longer control.

Reality mingles with chaos that beats at the confines of its prison - eager for freedom. The thin veil that separates the world of death from the world of life starts to dissolve, shearing as though in a wind that no shield can hold. Those once dead live and those living struggle to survive against the perpetual night. Souls are taken and souls returned, but can they ever be the same, coming back from the land of the damned?

A 1000 year-old ghost tires of his duties and the Gods are weakening.

The Heir Apparent carries the weight of worlds, holding onto the only things that will get him through; faith and love.

If the demon comes, if it breaches the barrier that has kept it from the world, will love be enough? Will anything?

Meet the Author

Author Jolea M. Harrison has been writing for as long as she can remember, when around the age of eight she dreamed up an epic tale of a young princess in search of the King's approval, who went out and killed the evil monster none of the knights could slay! This short story was even illustrated on 3 x 5 cards. After reading The Lord of the Rings, the fantasy bug left a permanent mark, which was then complicated by her immediate love of Star Wars and other works of science fiction.

She started her writing career in earnest about 10 years ago when she set out to publish the epic fantasy series, The Guardians of the Word, which is eight books in length. The first book of the series, Chosen, was published in June, 2011. Myth, Telepath, Legend, Union, Seer and Adept followed over the course of the year. The final book of the series, King will be released in March, 2013.

"It's been more than worth it, and I've enjoyed every minute, but especially getting to know the incredibly helpful and wonderful people I've met because I took a leap of faith. I'm a writer, a mother and manager of chaos. I try to do too many things at once, like so many of us, but it all usually works out. I love writing. It's what I'm passionate about and what I want to do above all other things."

Her other interests are gardening and maintaining her Civil War era home. On a recent fact finding mission about the house, she discovered the name of a young soldier who died there while being cared for by the doctor who owned the house at the time. Sometimes in the evening mists, it's not unusual to see the shapes of soldiers marching across the fields or hear 'something' climbing the stairs. She has two children who firmly believe in ghosts.

    Adept is Outstanding

Jolea Harrison must have steel in her spine to create a cover like that with the content of her latest book, Adept. In the ongoing story of Dynan and Dain she weaves a tail of family, betrayal, love, lies, deception and of course, Demons. The struggle for the Crown of Cobalt and the despair of possible lost love gives this book a five star. You feel for the characters as they are pulled and pushed in many different directions, some right, some not so right. You marvel at the strength and determination of two men to do the right thing even when it mean lying to your best friend and possibly your death. So many characters, so many different possibilities and yet the story moves on in the best tradition of Sci-Fi / Fantasy combination. Do not take my word for all of this. Start at the beginning with the first book, Chosen. Work your way into this novel and you will find your senses reeling with the injustices and horror the main characters have to face. Enjoy reading!!!
