Overview

In this fast-paced and mysterious adventure, a famed antiquities expert stumbles across an ancient secret that leaves her questioning everything … and wanting more.

Jane Sinclaire’s life was going exactly as planned. She’d finally found the perfect assistant, her latest book was a best-seller, and the university had given her the freedom to travel the world in search of rare artifacts. She couldn’t ask for anything more – or so she thought.

When Jane is summoned to the jungles of Thailand to investigate a ruined temple and an artifact rumored to have great power, she must enlist the help of helicopter pilot Matthew Hawk. She finds him equal parts intriguing and maddening, but he’s the only person brave enough – or crazy enough – to fly her in.

Together, Jane and Hawk are pulled deep into the legends and mysteries surrounding the artifact, the mythical Soul Stone. Jane’s expertise is tested when she finds ancient stories linking the stone to her own family, and she begins to uncover secrets that have been kept for generations.

The only thing Jane knows for sure is that the stone is special … special enough that men have been killed over it. And Jane and Hawk could be next.

Meet the Author

R.H. Stavis' first foray into the writing world began at the age of eighteen when Sony Pictures optioned her screenplay, "Honor’s Price." The story revolved around an undiscovered heroine during the Revolutionary War.

Shortly after, R.H. Stavis' popularity expanded globally with the fictional work for one of the most beloved video game characters of all time, Lara Croft. As a result of Tomb Raider's success, R.H. has been interviewed by National Public Radio and has contributed an article entitled Writing in Your 20's for Writer's Digest.

Since that time, she's written for videogames, novels, television, and comic books (Transformers: War for Cybertron, Rage of Angels, Daniel’s Veil, Something Monstrous). Her passion is creating memorable worlds and characters for readers, players, and viewers.

Aside from this, she loves quantum physics, cake, a tall dark British man, and feeding every stray animal she can get her hands on.

Currently, R.H. Stavis can be found signing and speaking at some of the largest conventions in the world, including Comic-Con International and Book Expo America.

Surprised the hell out of me. Very easy to read, but smart and keeps you on a hook right till the end. Reminded me of Romancing the Stone, Indiana Jones and a little Big Trouble in Little China!

A fun, easy read with a good balance of adventure and mystery. The characters won me over. Read it in one evening, albeit a long, late evening.

A good weekend read. Mystery, romance, adventure...all what I look for in a book. The pacing is really nice and I was actually surprised by it several times. It took me a bit to get into the characters, but I wound up really enjoying their story. There is clearly a game associated with this (there is an ad in the book that will link you to it if you have Windows 8). i can't play it on my computer, but more significantly, I didn't have to know about the game to enjoy the story. It didn't feel like a book based on something, but i could tell there were moments where the player of the game might understand something differently. Worth a read if you like to devour three books a week like I do.
