The ledge that the Nook rests upon is VERY fragile. I broke one at the store and when I showed the manager what happened and how fragile it was, he broke a second. We concluded that most of them will be broken in normal use. I think he placed the remainder below the counter. This product could not have been tested even moderately before it was packaged and sold. Shame on whoever! It is a great idea and I want one -- as soon as they fix it. P.S. I would have given it zeero stars if that were possible.

I loved it...until it broke. The little ledge the Nook sits on snaps right off. Do not put it in a bag to take it anywhere. Just let it sit on a table and avoid handling the ledge. If you must take it with you, keep the box it came in and store it in there. Great idea poorly designed.

The ledge that holds the nook in place is far too fragile. Great idea, but the quality is not there.

I was loving it. It was given to me as a gift..... how sad it broke. The little lip popped off. Was going to get another one but not after reading the other reviews. Please fix it so I can get another.

Upon initial purchase and for a few weeks I loved this stand. It seemed very solidly built. I have been using this for a few weeks and it works just perfectly for my needs, allowing me to adjust at whatever angle I needed. Today I tried to adjust it and had my thumbs on the lip as I adjusted it, and to my surprise I heard a crack. I hope to return it for credit; after reading the reviews I don't want another. I am disappointed because I really loved the utility of the product.

I purchased one and used it then broke the holder in one day! I went back and got replacement. It broke one week later. Not recommended for everyone to get.

I LOVE MY NOOK!!!! and when I wanted a stand I looked at B&N and was disappointed with what I found, or didn't. I was lucky to see another Nook lover in a cafe using what is a very nice, versatile and strong stand: BookGem. Look online for various sellers; I got my at Amazon. It really works and is light enough to carry in your purse or bag,

Was loving the product till, like most reviewers have experienced, the lip broke. Just bought it a week ago. Do not carry it in a bag. It's a fragile product. Best if left on a desk at work or home.

After reading reviews I won't be buying untill NOOK makes it stronger. Clearly you need a stronger lip. come om and get with it NOOK. Then I'll buy it.

I was enjoying my new adjustable stand until I read the reviews here. So thankyou to everybody for alerting us of the fragility of the stand. My works perfect but I will use it more caustiously from now on. Wal-mart sells a similar stand specifically for the iPad but it is less money and seems more durable.

Great idea but poorly executed. Received this as a gift, loved the idea of it but it has two draw backs: 1.) heavy to carry around, and 2.) ledge is a flimsy piece of plastic. It snapped off in less than a week. Wish the ledge had been metal, then it might have lasted. The adjustable tilt feature worked perfectly. Too bad they saved a couple of pennies and went cheap with a plastic ledge. Recommendation: Don't waste your money on this item.

For me, this was the missing piece from a perfect Nook Tablet experience. It allows me to prop the Tablet up anywhere, including on my lap, and to adjust it to any angle. The mechanism that adjusts the tilt is very tight so there is no danger of it becoming "floppy" and not holding where you want it. It will adjust to any angle (you decide where you want it - the adjustment options are not preset and are therefore endless). The inside of the tray where my Tablet rests is coated with the same material as the outside of my Tablet, so it does not slip out. The bottom surface of the stand is also coated with the same material so it sits firmly on my lap. If you spend lots of time on any Nook device but don't want to hold it all the time, this is what your'e looking for. Worth every dollar as far as I am concerned!

This product is NOT "sturdy" - there is a significant design flaw. My wife and I both bought one of these, and neither lasted 60 days before the delicate juncture between the frame and the lip that supports the Nook broke. Serious ly deficient design.

I've already had it replaced once after using it only at lunch for 3 weeks. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Interesting how obvious it is which reviews are actual consumers and which are plants.

I am so happy I bought this stand for my Nook tablet. I have had it for several months now and have not had any problems with it at all, after reading the other reviews about it breaking. It's perfect for travelling, just close it up and take it with you. The only problem I have, is my husband has an iPad and keeps taking it from me. Looks like I'm going to be buying another one soon for him!

All you need is a small display plate holder for $1.00. I have one with a plastic base with two thick supports for side to side stability. A lip on each leg that holds any tablat/phone manufacturer not important. They all fit in either landscape/portrait. The back support is a "u" shape metal, thick, and rubber coated. Plus, it is adjustible in nearly infinite positions from front to back. Save your money and get a plate holder stand. They fold up and are much smaller than this bulky thing.

I purchased this a couple of months ago; it's broken now. The ledge the Nook sits on broke. It's of no use now.

After reading the other reviews I was stunned! I love my stand, it's sturdy made of metal and I can't see how it would break. I've not been careful with it, adjusting and re-adjusting with ease. You can position your nook on it's side or to stand up right. It works well with my nook first gen as well as my nook tablet. I love it and can highly recommend purchasing one.

I would recommend buying the bookchair - it's cute and functional and very inexpensive - from other comments here I would not purchase the reading stand from B&N

* unless the stand has been made sturdier?
