Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Adobe/Macromedia merger has given us the best web design and development suite ever created: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Flash, Contribute, and Acrobat, all in one box. To actually wield all that power, you need a friendly, easy reference: one that can teach you the new features, introduce you to the applications you're less familiar with, and deliver quick answers on practically anything. Here it is: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium All-in-One Desk Reference For Dummies.

You'll find concise, handy "minibooks" on all seven of these programs here. (While this happens to be a very big book for a very reasonable price, the For Dummies All-In-One Desk Reference format makes it very convenient and accessible, too.)

So if you're a longtime Photoshop jockey who's always wanted to learn basic Flash animation, this book will help you. If you're finally moving from FreeHand to Illustrator, it'll help you do that, too. And if you're a Dreamweaver user working in an environment where non-web designers must provide content, you really ought to read the chapters on Contribute.

Of course, the authors highlight many of CS3's biggest improvements. (For example, Dreamweaver users will appreciate the chapter-length introduction to Spry, Adobe's new framework for creating rich content with Ajax.) But they've also ferreted out some helpful smaller enhancements, too. (Photoshop CS3 now lets you click Add To Swatches right from the Color Picker to save a color you'll want to use again -- nice).

Put it all together, and you have an excellent reference with all the simplicity and clarity you expect when you see that For Dummies label. Bill Camarda, from the October 2007 Read Only

Very Well Organized And Easy To Read

I found this book to be a good reference for all of the CS3 products it covers. It is easy to find the information you are looking for and allows you to quickly look up information as you need it. Their are illustrations that help out as well when you need to visually see what is going on. In some areas it does not cover in depth information such as flash and programming issues but overall it is a good book to have in your library to review the more common features and for design ability. I would recommend this book to those who are learning their way around CS3 and need a good reference for each of the different programs available in the CS3 Suite.
