Overview

Dreamweaver CS3, now included as part of Adobe's Creative Suite 3, is the leading professional Web design and development application in the market, and is a must-have tool for any Web designer or developer. Dreamweaver CS3 offers new CSS layouts, a unified CSS panel, and CSS visualization tools that let users create interactive Web sites without having to delve into code. Dreamweaver users can now create dynamic interfaces using the Spry framwork for Ajax. (Spry is 99% HTML, so it's accessible to both designers and developers). Spry widgets (pre-built user interface components) let users quickly add common user interface components to Web pages. Each chapter in this full-color book contains a project that builds upon the reader's growing knowledge of Dreamweaver, while review questions at the end of each chapter reinforce the most important skills. Readers will learn how to customize a Dreamweaver workspace, apply cascading style sheets, enter headline and body text, insert graphics and rollovers, and add links to a page. They'll also learn how to add interactive elements to their site, such as behaviors, effects, and Flash video; add new code or code snippets; and publish their finished site to the Web.

SPECIAL NOTE: Before starting the lessons in the book visit www.peachpit.com/dwcs3cib for important lesson and project file updates.

    A weak effort

I have used previous titles from the 'Classroom in a Book' series and have been pleased with them. However, this Dreamweaver CS3 edition is VERY disappointing. The book contains MANY errors and typos. It lacks details essential to some of the projects, particularly in the later chapters. I found this book frustrating to use, and would NOT recommend it.

ADOBE SHOULD SEND OUT A RECALL!!!!!!!!!!!

This book is unreal. I too have read other classroom in a book titles by adobe. I am relieved that I am not the only one who learned nothing at all... AT ALL!!!! I learn best from book and textbooks. Adobe should refund us our money or give us a new book. Not enough poor words are in my vocabulary to describe this book.

    Trash!

I regret that I can't give less than a one star rating to this garbage. There are numerous misprints and errors. It teaches nothing. You learn nthing. You just follow along by rote, like a robot, not understanding how or why. To add to the insult, many of the examples simply don't work. And in Adobe's usual arms length from the public arrogance , you cannot contact anyone to ask about the contents of this waste of paper or about the program itself.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 Classroom in a book

This book includes a CD that has the complete tutorials that are used in the book for examples. Each chapter has its own set of files and support files that are needed to complete the lesson. If you have some training for any of the Adobe applications then this book is an excellent teaching tool. There are some vague steps in each lesson, with a little effort it is possible to figure out the steps. This might be because the lessons that I am following are on a Mac not a PC. All of the examples of the windows to give you guidance to show you the correct way that each command is done is from a PC. Both platforms are similar (just because I do go back an forth between the two) but there are enough differences to make it a bit confusing.

I would recommend this to anyone that needs to learn Dreamweaver. The Classroom in a book series are the best thing next to taking the class. You can take as long as you need, if you can teach yourself from a book, this is the book to use.
