    Helpful

I needed this for a tutorial assignment. It was clear and organized. Explains terminology which is nice for beginners.

    I Also Recommend:

    Needs much better sample files

The book itself is good for organizing content in a way that should be useful to beginners, and I found myself in agreement with the chapter introductions. The downloadable web site was surprisingly bad. Like some other computer books, there was too much reliance on using the same example site for the whole book. The sample web site used tables for layout and used CSS in inefficient, non-standard ways that would not be good to learn from. Fortunately, using the book is not dependent on downloading the files. The Flash book in this On Demand series was quite good, but this Dreamweaver book was disappointing. (I have found most CS4 Dreamweaver books to be disappointing because I prefer Garrick Chow's CS3 Dreamweaver book.)

    Gets the job done

It's a good book, but I think some of the things in it are very redundant. The way it is organized, unless you absolutely have no clue as to how to use a computer, is very repetitive. I would have bought the Adobe Classroom in a Book version instead if I had the choice from the start.
