All of Peachpit's eBooks contain the same content as the print edition. You will find a link in the last few pages of your eBook that directs you to the media files.

Helpful tips:

·    If you are able to search the book, search for "Where are the lesson files?"

·    Go to the very last page of the book and scroll backwards.

·    You will need a web-enabled device or computer in order to access the media files that accompany this ebook. Entering the URL supplied into a computer with web access will allow you to get to the files.

·    Depending on your device, it is possible that your display settings will cut off part of the URL. To make sure this is not the case, try reducing your font size and turning your device to a landscape view. This should cause the full URL to appear.

    Color tutorials with CD

This is a good book to learn Flash CS4. It is important to see the timeline in color as tweens are different colors and otherwise are hard tell the difference bewteen shape, motion, etc.
The tutorials are well designed and have an order that moves the learning process forward at a good pace.
Could explain more about scenes and why not to use them and the differences between CS3 and CS4 as they are many!

But over all a very good book to jump in and get started whether you already know Flash or not.
The CD lets you see what the final project should look like and gives you the project in progress so you can investigate the the elements and understand the process.

    Good for Components

I prefer this Flash book for its introduction of components, the details of which require an authoritative book. The CS4 edition improves on earlier ones with good chapters on animating with the new bone tool. The bones animations are good projects that work on computers with 2GB of RAM, while a more complicated use of bones would require extra RAM. The chapter on drawing could be better. By avoiding the topic of symbols, the drawing project does not build the way you would build an animation, and more importantly, looks like a web ad while not introducing web ad sizes. Still, the book is pretty much a must-have because it takes a few books to get a handle on Flash.
